Apple TV+ announced today that Philip Glass (The Hours, The Illusionist, Notes on a Scandal, Candyman, Kundun), in collaboration with Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Dynasty, Boston Strangler), has composed the original score for the upcoming documentary The Pigeon Tunnel. The film is directed by Errol Morris and centers on the storied life and career of former British spy David Cornwell, better known as John le Carré, author of such spionage novels as Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, The Night Manager and The Constant Gardener. The film is directed by James Hawes (Slow Horses, Snowpiercer) and stars Anthony Hopkins, Johnny Flynn, Helena Bonham-Carter, Jonathan Pryce, Romola Garai, Lena Olin and Alex Sharp. The movie tells the story of Sir Nicholas Winton, a British stockbroker who helped rescue hundreds of children from Europe on the verge of the World War II, an act of compassion that was almost forgotten for fifty years. Paramount+ announced today (as part of the Star Trek Comic-Con presentation) that Kay Hanley and Tom Polce (of the rock band Letters to Cleo) have written ten original songs for an upcoming musical episode of the streamer’s original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The episode, entitled Subspace Rhapsody, will premiere as part of the show’s second season on August 9, 2023, and is also set to feature a special version of the series’ main title.
