Jorrit Kleijnen (Boy 7, Sum of Histories, Don’t Shoot) & Jacob Meijer (The Judgement, Narcosis, Klem) have released a soundtrack album for the Dutch romantic drama Broken (Toen ik je zag). The album features the composers’ original score from the film and is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. Broken is directed by Ben Verbong and stars Noortje Herlaar and Egbert-Jan Weeber. The movie is based on the book When I Saw You by Isa Hoes and explores the relationship between a well-known actor and a singer who suffered from severe depression and died in 2010. Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1996 action thriller The Rock directed by Michael Bay and starring Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage, Ed Harris, William Forsythe, Claire Forlani and Michael Biehn. The album features the complete original score from the Hollywood Pictures production composed and produced by Nick Glennie-Smith (The Man in the Iron Mask, We Were Soldiers, Secretariat), Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, The Lion King, Dune, Gladiator) & Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Martian), including previously unreleased music, as well as alternate tracks and demos. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Trevor Morris (Vikings, Olympus/London Has Fallen, Immortals, The Tudors, The Borgias) who previously scored Netflix’s original Castlevania series and Trey Toy (Centigrade, Another Life), the new version of the Divine Bloodlines theme, as well as the opera pieces performed by Sydney James Harcourt (who stars as Edouard). The show’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, The Dark Knight, Dune, Gladiator) and David Fleming (The Last of Us, Hillbilly Elegy). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score earlier this year. The film is directed by Matthew Brown and stars Anthony Hopkins, Matthew Goode, Liv Lisa Fries, Jodi Balfour, Jeremy Northam, Stephen Campbell Moore and Orla Brady. The movie is set on the eve of World War II, when famed psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud (towards the end of his life) invites iconic author C.S. Lewis for a debate over the existence of God.
