emmysThe nominations for the 76th Emmy Awards were announced this morning. The awards will be given out at the 76th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which is currently scheduled to take place on September 7 & 8 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Here are the music-related categories:

Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score):

Joni Fuller (David Attenborough and the Giant Sea Monster, Agatha Christie: Lucy Worsley on the Mystery Queen, Greatness Code) has composed the original music for the new Netflix documentary series Simone Biles Rising. The show is directed by Katie Walsh and follow the titular gymnast as she balances her personal life, mental health journey and training ahead of a highly anticipated return to the Olympics. ‘Eva Lasting’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Released

Netflix Music has released a new soundtrack album for the streamer’s Columbian original series Eva Lasting (La Primera Vez). The album features selections of the original score and songs from the show’s first season composed by Santiago Uribe (Always a Witch, Savage Rhythm). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also listen to audio samples.  The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring Uribe’s music from Season 1 last year. Eva Lasting is created by Dago García and stars Emmanuel Restrepo, Francisca Estevez Navas, Julián Cerati, Sergio Palau, Brandon Figueredo, Verónica Orozco, Mateo García and Santiago Alarcóno. ‘The Wingfeather Saga’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Details

Sony Classical will release a new soundtrack album for Angel Studios’ animated fantasy series The Wingfeather Saga. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by The Arcadian Wild, Kurt Heinecke and Ben Shive. Also included is the original song Carry the Fire by Shive feat. Taylor Leonhardt (already available to stream/download now and also embedded after the jump). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, July 19 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Angel Studios has previously released an album featuring the music from Season 1 last year. The Wingfeather Saga is based on Andrew Peterson’s best-selling books and follows the adventures of the three Igiby children as they journey to uncover the truth about their family’s past and their rightful place in the kingdom of Aerwiar. Composer Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, The Equalizer 3, May December, Emancipation, The Good Shepherd, The Affair, Ray Donovan) is reuniting with director Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Dear Evans Hansen) on the upcoming comedy Nonnas. The film starring Vince Vaughn, Susan Sarandon, Lorraine Bracco, Talia Shire, Linda Cardellini, Brenda Vaccaro, Drea De Matteo, Michael Rispoli, Joe Manganiello & Campbell Scott is based on the true story of Brooklyn native Joe Scaravella. The movie follows Scarvella who – after losing his beloved mother –  yearns for a second chance at life and – motivated by his Italian mother’s love of cooking – opens a restaurant unlike any other by hiring the most unlikely team of chefs consisting of grandmothers. Hollywood Records will release a new soundtrack album for Marvel’s Hulu original animated series Hit-Monkey. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Daniel Rojas (Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K., Who Invented Charlie?, Fly Hard, Monster High). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, July 19 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s first track (Welcome to the Majors) below. The label has previously released an album featuring Rojas’ score from Season 1 back in 2021. Hit-Monkey is created by Josh Gordon & Will Speck (who also serve as the project’s showrunners) based on the Marvel Comics characters and stars Leslie Jones, Ally Maki, Olivia Munn, Cristin Milioti, Fred Tatasciore and Jason Sudeikis. Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Isabella Summers (aka Isa Machine of Florence + the Machine) (Little Fires Everywhere, Lisa Frankenstein, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, The Offer, Physical) has been hired to score the upcoming animated musical Bad Fairies. Toby Marlow & Lucy Moss (best known for their work on the stage musical Six) are writing the original songs for the film directed by Megan Nicole Dong (Centaurworld) Summer is also producing the songs for the movie, which is set contemporary London and follows badass gang of fairies who break every rule in the book. B Original has released the first-ever soundtrack album for 2010 French/Belgian romantic comedy Romantics Anonymous (Les Émotifs anonymes) co-written and directed by Jean-Pierre Améris and starring Benoît Poelvoorde, Isabelle Carré, Lorella Cravotta and Jacques Boudet. The album features the film’s original music composed by Pierre Adenot (Beauty and the Beast, Paris, je t’aime, Our Futures).
