Ludwig Göransson has received his first BAFTA Award for his music for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer in the Original Score category at today’s 2024 EE British Academy Film Awards ceremony in London. He previously won the Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Award and is also up for an Academy Award for his score for the biographical thriller. Daniel Pemberton & Metro Boomin were honored with their first Annie Award in Feature category for their music from Sony Pictures Animation’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at tonight’s 51st Annie Awards ceremony at UCLA’s Royce Hall. Pemberton composed the movie’s score, while Metro Boomin served as the executive producer of the film’s soundtrack, which was released by Republic Records. Pemberton’s score was released by Sony Classical. The other contenders in the category were Thomas Newman for Elemental, Kazuma Jinnouchi & RADWIMPS for Suzume, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and Joe Hisaishi for The Boy and the Heron. ‘A Soweto Love Story’ Soundtrack EP Released

Netflix Music has released a soundtrack EP for the South African Netflix original film A Soweto Love Story. The 6-track EP features three tracks performed by the Afrikariz Choir, as well as three songs from the movie performed by Didintle Khunou. A Soweto Love Story is directed by Rolie Nikiwe and stars Lunga Shabalala, Duduzile Ngcobo, Zenzelisphesihle Sparky Xulu, Ray Neo Buso, Motsoaledi Setumo and Mamodibe Ramodibe .
