Dragon’s Domain Records has announced a new soundtrack album featuring the world premiere release of two scores composed by Gerald Fried (Star Trek: The Original Series, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Mission: Impossible, RootsGilligan’s Island). The album includes the composer’s music from the 1979 drama The Bell Jar directed by Larry Peerce and starring Marilyn Hassett, Julie Harris, Anne Jackson, Robert Klein & Barbara Barrie, as well as his score from the 1976 action movie Vigilante Force written and directed by George Armitage and starring Kris Kristofferson and Jan-Michael Vincent. The Gerald Fried – Volume 2 is now available to order as a limited edition CD on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the release. Hollywood Records has released a new soundtrack album for the Argentine Star+ original series El Encargado. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third season composed by Alejandro Kauderer (My Masterpiece, The Man of Your Dreams) & Ignacio Gabriel (Nada, Angélica). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list. Also listen to the composers’ first two tracks after the jump. The show is developed by Ronan Bennett (Public Enemies, Top Boy) based on the novel of the same name by Frederick Forsyth novel the 1973 film adaptation (scored by Georges Delerue) and stars Eddie Redmayne, Lashana Lynch, Úrsula Corberó, Richard Dormer, Lia Williams, Chukwudi Iwuji, Charles Dance, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura,Nick Blood, Jonjo O’Neill, Sule Rimi and Florisa Kamara. The thriller follows the titular lone assassin as he meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer who starts to track down the Jackal in a cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The film is directed by Brian Taylor (Crank, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) and stars Jack Kesy in the title role, Adeline Rudolph as Bobbie Jo Song, Jefferson White as Tom Ferrel, as well as Leah McNamara, Hannah Margetson, Joseph Marcell and Martin Bassindale. The movie is set in the 1950s and follows rookie BPRD agent Song who gets tasked with delivering a spider to the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense and must enlist the help of Hellboy to confront the malevolent Crooked Man, who has returned to Earth to harvest souls for the devil. Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Predator, Cast Away, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Polar Express) is attached to score Marvel Studios’ upcoming features Avengers: Doomsday & Avengers: Secret Wars. The films will be directed by Joe & Anthony Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War) and star Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom/Victor Von Doom. No other casting announcements have been made yet. Stephen McFeely (The Chronicles of Narnia, Pain & Gain) is writing the screenplay for both installments. Premiering on Wednesday, July 31, is the Mexican Apple TV+ original series Women in Blue (Las Azules) created by Fernando Rovzar & Pablo Aramendi and stars Bárbara Mori, Sariñana, Téllez, Rasgado, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Miguel Rodarte, Horacio García Rojas and Christian Tappan. The show’s original music is composed by Lucas Vidal (Fast & Furious 6, The Raven, ElitePalm Trees in the Snow, The Deliverance, Welcome to Eden, The Quiet Ones, The Cold Light of Day). Platoon will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score on Wednesday and has already released the main title song No Soy Tuya performed by Ximena Sariñana earlier this month.
