Burt Bacharach has passed away yesterday at age 94. The Grammy Award-winning songwriter/composer and pianist has written hundreds of songs throughout his career, including numerous tracks written specifically for films and also composed several film scores. He won his first two Academy Awards for the song Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head (with Hal David) and the score from George Roy Hill’s western Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in 1970 and received another Oscar a decade later for Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do) from Steve Gordon’s Arthur. The details of the first soundtrack album for the Paramount+ original series 1923 have been revealed. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Brian Tyler (Fast & Furious, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3, Crazy Rich Asians, ) & Breton Vivian (Yellowstone, Redeeming Love, Five Feet Apart). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, February 10 by Sony Classical and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. A first track (1923 Opus) by Tyler has previously been released as a digital single and a second volume featuring more music from Season 1 is expected to come out in a couple of weeks. Paramount Music will release a soundtrack album for the comedy 80 for Brady. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf, Iron Man 2, Hocus Pocus).
