The show is created by Mike Makowsky (Bad Education, I Think We’re Alone Now) based on Candice Millard’s 2011 novel Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine and the Murder of a President, and stars Michael Shannon, Matthew Macfadyen, Nick Offerman, Bradley Whitford, Shea Whigham and Betty Gilpin. The 4-part historical drama tells the story of James Garfield, who rose from obscurity to become America’s 20th President — and Charles Guiteau, the man who assassinated him. Ubisoft Music will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original animated series Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (OzarkThe Outsider, Black Rabbit, Enemy, Speak No Evil, The GiftBoy ErasedThe Staircase, Tulsa King, Tokyo Vice) and Chase Deso (Pepsi, Where’s My Jet?).  The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 14 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Splinter Cell: Deathwatch is developed by Derek Kolstad based on the Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell espionage video game franchise and features the voices of Liev Schreiber, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Janet Varney, Joel Oulette, Helen Hong, Kiff VandenHeuvel, Aleks Le, Kari Wahlgren, Bella Dayne and Navid Negahban. Quartet Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish horror thriller Crazy Old Lady (Vieja Loca). The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Pedro Osuna (Argentina, 1985, Every Minute Counts ). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on most major digital music services, including Amazon. The punk duo ARXX has contributed original songs to the 6-part series, which follows a teacher, a police officer, a midwife, a pub landlady and a shoplifting freeloader who form a female punk rock band to take part in a local talent contest and suddenly find they have a lot more to shout about than they ever imagined. The first spinoff to the network’s Fire Country is developed by Joan Rater & Tony Phelan (Grey’s Anatomy, A Small Light) and actor Max Thieriot and stars Morena Baccarin, Matt Lauria, Michele Weaver, W. Earl Brown, Christopher Gorham, as well as Thieriot & Diane Farr who reprise their roles from the original series. The show follows the the stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief as she investigates criminal activity while she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater, contending with her ex-con father and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter. The film’s original music is composed by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social NetworkSoul, ChallengersGone Girl, WatchmenThe Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as Nine Inch Nails. Interscope Records & The Null Corporation have released a soundtrack album featuring the band’s score and songs last month. Also opening nationwide this weekend is the crime comedy drama Roofman directed by Derek Cianfrance and starring Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst, Ben Mendelsohn, LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Melonie Diaz, Uzo Aduba, Lily Collias, Jimmy O. Yang and Peter Dinklage. Christopher Bear (of the rock band Grizzly Bear) (Past Lives, High MaintenanceAdults, Mother, CouchSwallowedThe Passenger) has composed the film’s original score. A soundtrack album will be released by Varese Sarabande according to the movie’s end credits, but no details have been announced yet.
