The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Joan Vilà (Everyone Will Burn, Red Summer, Silence, You’re Not Me, Quién eres). . This past week, Kris Bowers (The Wild Robot, Bridgerton, GOAT, Green Book, Spider-Noir, Haunted Mansion, The Color Purple, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Dear White People) has been recording his score for the upcoming Netflix original animated film Steps. The movie is directed by Alyce Tzue & John Ripa (Raya and the Last Dragon) and stars Ali Wong, Amanda Seyfried, Stephanie Hsu, Daniel Radcliffe, Nikki Glaser, Young Mazino, Peter Dinklage and Bette Midler. The animated comedy tells the story of a misunderstood young woman who is blamed for hijacking the Royal Ball with a stolen magic wand and – after accidentally turning her sister into a frog – must team up with Cinderella (and a surprisingly dreamy troll) to save the kingdom. Premiering on Wednesday, August 5, is the FX original series The Shards developed by Ryan Murphy & Bret Easton Ellis based on Ellis’ bestselling novel of the same name and starring Igby Rigney, Kaia Gerber, Graham Campbell, Homer Gere, Hayes Warner, Wes Bentley, Jordan Roth and Evan Rachel Wood. The show’s original score is composed by Morgan Kibby (Grotesquerie, Mothering Sunday, Finding Emily, Queens, Wilderness, The Power) & David Klotz (The Watcher, All’s Fair, American Sports Story, The Prom). Troye Sivan & Leland and Hayes Warner have provided original songs to the project. Harris Sepe Films has released a soundtrack album for the faith-based drama Elijah Peel. The album features the songs from the film written by Kevin D. Sepe and performed by lead actor Robert Malcolm Cumming who stars in the title role and by Sepe himself. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo. The film’s original music is composed by Academy Award winner Michael Giacchino (Lost, Up, The Batman, Jurassic World, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Doctor Strange, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star Trek). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening semi-wide in around 700 theaters is the comedy thriller I Want Your Sex written and directed by Gregg Araki and starring Olivia Wilde, Cooper Hoffman, Mason Gooding, Daveed Diggs, Chase Sui Wonders and Charli xcx. James Clements (Now Apocalypse, Bottom of the World, The Blackout Experiments). has composed the film’s original music. No word on soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a fresh-faced young man who lands a job with an artist and provocateur who taps him to become her sexual muse and takes him on a journey into a world of sex, obsession, power, betrayal, and murder, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being distributed by Magnolia Pictures.
