Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, John Wick, Deadpool 2,  300, Atomic Blonde, X, Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead) has been tapped to score the new CBS drama NCIS: New York. The show  stars LL COOL J who returns as legendary NCIS Agent Sam Hanna (from NCIS: Los Angeles), as well as Scott Caan, Jennifer Beals, Jacqueline Byers, Shane Harper and Devin Druid. The series follows Hanna as he returns to his hometown of New York City to their field office, partnering with a roguish agent and helping lead a new team as they are tasked with high-stakes missions. Byron Balasco serves as the project’s showrunner and is also executive producing the CBS Studios production with R. Scott Gemmill (The Pitt, ER), Adam Davidson (La Brea, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist), Kyle Harimoto (NCIS: Los Angeles), Joseph C. Wilson (The Equalizer), LL COOL J and Jason Barret (Dirty Grandpa). Bates has previously collaborated with Balasco on the 2014 Audience Network series Kingdom. He is also co-scoring the CBS/Paramount+ series Tracker which just returned for its fourth season this past Sunday, as well as Criminal Minds (Evolution), which has been renewed for an eighteenth season. NCIS: New York is premiering tonight on CBS and will also be available to stream on Paramount+.
