Pathé Films has released a new soundtrack album for the 2012 French/Belgian animated feature Zarafa directed by Rémi Bezançon and Jean-Christophe Lie. The album features the original score from the film composed by Laurent Perez Del Mar (The Red Turtle, The Mystery of Henri Pick, I Kill Giants, My Son, The Kitchen Brigade), including previously unreleased tracks. Premiering in the U.S. on Thursday, October 17, is the British sci-fi series Midwich Cuckoos: Village of the Damned developed by David Farr based on John Wyndham’s classic novel of the same title and starring Keeley Hawes, Max Beesley, Synnøve Karlsen, Samuel West, Cherrelle Skeete, Lara Rossi, Aisling Loftus, Ukweli Roach, Rebekah Staton, Lewis Reeves and Anneika Rose. The show’s original music is composed by Hannah Peel (Rogue Agent, Scoop, Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, Insomnia, The Deceived). Invada Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score when the sci-fi drama premiered in the UK on Sky in 2022. Also premiering in the U.S. on Thursday is the British series Passenger created by Andrew Buchan and starring Wunmi Mosaku, David Threlfall, Rowan Robinson, Jo Hartley, Arian Nik, Barry Sloane, Natalie Gavin, Jack James Ryan and Nico Mirralegro. Keaton Henson (Supernova, Anne Boleyn, Something Better to Come) has composed the show’s original music. MCA Nashville has released the theme song from the new NBC comedy Happy’s Place. The song is co-written (with Grammy Award-winning songwriter Carole King & the show’s composer Doug Sisemore) and performed by lead actress Reba McEntire and is now available for pre-order on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Warner Classics will release the recording of a new score for F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent movie classic Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror (Nosferatu: Eine Symphonie des Grauens). In February 2023, the film was screened in Zurich with a new 90-minute score by composer Christopher Young (Hellraiser, Spider-Man 3, Drag Me to Hell, Ghost Rider, Sinister, The Shipping News, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Hurricane) whose name is closely linked with the horror genre. The recording of this new score was made with Frank Strobel, conductor, Saya Hashino, organ and Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich and will released digitally and physically on November 29.
