‘Phase IV’ Digital Soundtrack Album Released

Paramount Music has released a digital version of the soundtrack album for the 1974 sci-fi horror cult classic Phase IV directed by Saul Bass and starring Michael Murphy, Nigel Davenport and Lynne Frederick. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brian Gascoigne (The Emerald Forest, Under Milk Wood, Blueblood). The soundtrack is now available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music/iTunes. La-La Land Records has previously released a limited edition CD featuring Cascoigne’s music (coupled with Johnny Douglas’ Crack in the World score) back in 2016, while Waxwork Records has released a vinyl edition in 2015. The album features the film’s original music composed by Leonard Küßner (Dear Future Children) and performed by the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra. Masterworks Broadway has announced a new cast recording album for the stage production Back to the Future: The Musical. The 2-CD set features the content of the original album, as well as thirteen previously unreleased demos and early versions of many of the musical’s songs written by Academy Award nominee Alan Silvestri and Grammy Award winner Glen Ballard, most of which are performed by Ballard himself. The Deluxe Edition also features a new booklet, including rehearsal photos and a track by track commentary with stories about the how songs were created for the show.
