Benjamin Wallfisch (Alien: Romulus, Twisters, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Shazam!, Annabelle Creation) has been tapped to score the upcoming HBO original series IT: Welcome to Derry. The show is developed by Andy Muschietti & Barbara Muschietti (Mama, Locke & Key) and Jason Fuchs (Argylle, Ice Age: Continental Drift) based on Stephen King’s It novel and stars Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, Stephen Rider, James Remar, Rudy Mancuso, Madeleine Stowe and Bill Skarsgård. The drama is set in the world of King’s IT universe and expands the vision established by Muschietti in the features IT and IT Chapter Two. The Muschiettis, Fuchs & Skarsgård are also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television production with Brad Caleb Kane (Tokyo Vice, Warrior), David Coatsworth (Underworld: Evolution, Preacher), Shelley Meals (Shadow and Bone), Roy Lee (A Minecraft Movie, Barbarian) and Dan Lin (The LEGO Movie, Sherlock Holmes). Wallfisch has previously scored both of Andy Muschietti’s IT movies and also collaborated with the filmmaker on The Flash. IT: Welcome to Derry will premiere this fall on HBO and will also be available to stream on Max.
As previously reported, Wallfisch also has Michael Chaves’ The Conjuring: Last Rites and Simon McQuoid’s Mortal Kombat 2 coming up.
