Varese Sarabande Records has announced the details for the soundtrack release of the French romance La fille du puisatier (aka The Well Digger’s Daughter). The album includes Alexandre Desplat’s original score, as well Enrico Caruso’s performance of the song Core ‘Ngrato from the film. The score was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. The soundtrack has been released as a physical CD in Europe and will be available on iTunes in the US on May 31, 2011. The album can also be ordered as an import on Amazon. La fille du puisatier starring and directed by Daniel Auteuil has already been released in France and a domestic release has yet to be announced. Danny Elfman to Reunite with Tim Burton on ‘Frankenweenie’

Danny Elfman is set to reunite with director Tim Burton on the upcoming stop-motion animated movie Frankenweenie. The film is based on Burton’s 1984 short film about a pet dog brought back to life by his loyal owner after it is struck by a car. The movie’s voice talent includes several actors who have previously worked with the director, including Winona Ryder, Martin Landau, Martin Short and Catherine O’Hara. John August (Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride) is writing the screenplay. The project is the 14th collaboration between the composer and the director and the first one after their first billion-dollar movie Alice in Wonderland. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album for the comedy Jumping the Broom. The album includes Edward Shearmur’s original score, as well as several songs from the film. Artists featured on the soundtrack include Shelea Frazier, Louis Armstrong, Al Green, Aretha Franklin, Gonzales, Cupid and Curtis Mayfield. The album is currently available to download on iTunes. Jumping the Broom is directed by Salim Akil and stars Angela Bassett, Paula Patton, Laz Alonso, Loretta Devine, Mike Epps and Julie Bowen. The film is opening in theaters this Friday, May 6. Graeme Revell has been hired to score the horror thriller Shark Night 3D. The movie stars Sara Paxton, Dustin Milligan, Katharine McPhee, Donal Logue, Chris Carmack, Alyssa Diaz and Joel David Moore. The film is directed by David R. Ellis and revolves around a group of college friends who spend the weekend at a lake house, only to find all sorts of dangerous sharks lurking beneath the waters. Roque Banos Scoring ‘Intruders’

Empire has premiered the first teaser trailer for the upcoming horror thriller Intruders today. A closer look to the credits reveals that Spanish composer Roque Banos is listed as the film’s composer. The movie is directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later, Intact) and stars Clive Owen, Daniel Brühl, Carice van Houten, Ella Purnell and Kerry Fox. The film’s story centers on an 11-year-old girl who is forced to confront childhood demons. The English-language project is a American, British and Spanish co-production and was shot in London and Madrid last summer. Among the film’s producers is Belen Atienza (Pan’s Labyrinth, The Orphonage, Che) who previously produced the Viggo Mortensen-starring adventure biopic Alatriste, which Banos scored back in 2006. WaterTower Music has announced a soundtrack release for the upcoming comic book adaptation of Green Lantern. The album includes James Newton Howard’s original score from the movie. The soundtrack will be released on May 24, 2011 and more details, including cover art and track list will be published in the next couple of weeks. Check back on this page for updates. James Newton Howard’s score was recorded earlier this month in Los Angeles with a 104-piece orchestra. Joseph LoDuca has signed on to score the upcoming action adventure film Soldiers of Fortune. The film is directed by Maksim Korostyshevsky and stars Sean Bean, Christian Slater, Dominic Monaghan, Ving Rhames, James Cromwell, Freddy Rodriguez and Colm Meaney. In the movie, a group of wealthy thrill-seekers pay huge premiums to have themselves inserted into military adventures, only this time things don’t go exactly to plan.
