‘Rec 3: Genesis’ Soundtrack Released

Screamworks Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish horror thriller Rec 3: Genesis. The album features the film’s music composed by Mikel Salas. The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also check out audio clips from the score. Rec 3 is directed by Paco Plaza and stars Leticia Dolera, Javier Botet and Diego Martin. The third installment in the Spanish zombie horror series follows the wedding preliminaries of a young couple through the lens of a relative and the steadicam-rig POV of a professional wedding photographer. The movie opened in Europe earlier this year and has just been released in select US cities last weekend by Magnolia Pictures’ Magnet Releasing and is also available on Video on Demand. Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack release for the drama Trouble with the Curve. The album features the film’s original score composed by Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Scream), as well as the end credits song On My Way (To The Big Time) by Randy Brown and performed by The Neighbors with Greg Camp. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 18, 2012 and physically on October 16. The CD version is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out below. Trouble with the Curve is directed by Robert Lorenz and stars Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, Matthew Lillard and Scott Eastwood. The movie about an aging baseball scout who is losing his sight and takes a road trip to Atlanta with his daughter will be released on September 21 by Warner Bros. Pictures. Danny Elfman has signed on to score the upcoming biographical comedy drama Hitchcock. The film is directed by Sacha Gervasi (Anvil: The Story of Anvil, screenwriter of The Terminal) and follows the iconic director’s struggles during the filmmaking of the horror classic Psycho. Anthony Hopkins stars in the title role, alongside Scarlett Johansson and James D’Arcy who portray Psycho stars Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins, as well as Helen Mirren as Hitchcock’s wife Alma. Toni Collette, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jessica Biel and Danny Huston are also starring. Actor Paul Schackman appears as Psycho‘s composer Bernard Herrmann. John McLaughlin (Black Swan) has written the film’s script and Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters), Joe Medjuck (Disturbia, Old School), Tom Pollack and Tom Thayer are producing the Montecito Picture Company and Fox Searchlight Pictures production. MovieScore Media’s Screamworks Records has released a soundtrack album for the mystery thriller The Tall Man. The album features the film’s original music composed by Todd Bryanton, Joel Douek and Golden Globe-nominated composer Christopher Young (The Shipping News, Spider-Man 3). The soundtrack has been released today and is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also check out audio clips from the score. The Tall Man is written and directed by Pascal Laugier and stars Jessica Biel, Jodelle Ferland, Stephen McHattie and William B. Davis. The movie is set in a mining town where children are vanishing without a trace and are thought of being abducted by a mysterious entity known locally as “The Tall Man.” The thriller opened in US theaters on August 31 and is also available on Video on Demand. Variety is reporting that songwriter Diane Warren has teamed up again with Celine Dion for an original song written for the comedy drama Song for Marion. The song Unfinished Songs with music and lyrics by Warren and performed by Dion is playing over the film’s end credits. Warren has previously been nominated for six Academy Awards for her work for film, including for the song Because You Loved Me from 1996’s Up Close and Personal, which was also performed by Dion. Unfinished Songs is already considered a strong contender to get a nomination at next year’s award ceremony, especially given the Academy’s recent rule change that guarantees five nominations in the Best Original Song category. MovieScore Media’s Screamworks Records has released a soundtrack album for the British horror comedy Cockneys vs Zombies. The album features the film’s original score composed by Jody Jenkins. The soundtrack has just been released digitally on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. A physical release is scheduled to come out on October 2, 2012. Cockneys vs Zombies is directed by Michael Hoene and stars Michelle Ryan, Honor Blackman and Harry Treadaway. The movie follows an unlikely gang of amateur banks robbers and foul-mouthed plucky pensioners who fight their way out of a zombie infested London. Academy Award-winning composer James Horner is making a return to the concert stage and is composing a double concerto for violin and cello to be performed by Norwegian violinist Mari Samuelsen and cellist Håkon Samuelsen. The duo has been working with the composer on the double concerto since last year even before Horner completed his score for this summer’s The Amazing Spider-Man. The concert is set to premiere in the fall of 2013. More details about the piece and the concert location will be posted on this site within the next couple of months. Apart from rearranging his Titanic score for this year’s 3D world premiere in London, the project marks Horner’s first concert work since A Forest Passage, which was commissioned by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra more than a decade ago. The details for one of this year’s most anticipated first person shooters,  Medal of Honor: Warfighter have been revealed. The album features the video game’s original music written by film and TV composer Ramin Djawadi (Iron Man, Clash of the Titans, Game of Thrones), as well as additional score composed by Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda who made his film scoring debut with this year’s action movie The Raid: Redemption. The soundtrack will be released on September 25, 2012 by Electronic Arts Music and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Medal of Honor: Warfighter developed by Danger Close Games and to be published by Electronic Arts is a direct sequel to 2010’s series reboot Medal of Honor, which also featured music by Djawadi. ’10 Years’ Soundtrack Details

Relativity Music Group will be releasing a soundtrack album for the ensemble comedy drama 10 Years. The album features the film’s songs by artists including Oscar Isaac, Alexander, Bibio, Willie Wright, Bushwalla, Pharcyde, Rogue Wave and Joe Perdy. Also included is a suite from the movie’s score composed by Chad Fischer (Garden State, Chasing Mavericks). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 11, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. 10 Years is written and directed by Jamie Linden and stars Channing Tatum, Rosario Dawson, Justin Long, Kate Mara, Oscar Isaac, Ron Livingstone, Max Minghella, Lynn Collins, Ari Graynor, Chris Pratt, Aubrey Plaza, Scott Porter and Antony Mackie. Earlier this past week, the Cartoon Network premiered Dreamworks Animation’s Dragons: Riders of Berk based on the Academy Award-nominated hit film How to Train Your Dragon. The show’s voice talent includes the cast from the movie, including Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and T. J. Miller. John Paesano (Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas) is composing the series’ music and is incorporating John Powell’s themes from the feature version into his score. The first episode is available to download for free on iTunes and the show airs every Tuesday night on the Cartoon Network.
