Martin Phipps is the composer of the upcoming drama The Keeping Room. The film is directed by Daniel Barber and stars Brit Marling, Hailee Steinfeld, Sam Worthington, Amy Nuttall and Ned Dehenny. The movie is set in the Civil War and follows three Southern women who are forced to defend their home from the onslaught of a band of soldiers who have broken off from the fast approaching Union Army. Julia Hart has written the screenplay. Jordan Horowitz (The Kids Are All Right) is producing the project for Gilbert Films, alongside Matt Williams, David McFadzean (Where the Heart Is), Judd Payne & Dete Meserve (Bernie) for Wind Dancer Films. Cinevox Record will release the official soundtrack album for the Italian/Argentinian comedy L’arbitro. The album features the film’s original music composed by Andrea Guerra (The Pursuit of Happiness, Hotel Rwanda). Clinton Shorter is composing the score for the upcoming historical action epic Pompeii. The film is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil, AVP: Alien vs Predator, Mortal Kombat) and stars Kit Harington, Carrie-Anne Moss, Emily Browning, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Paz Vega, Jared Harris and Kiefer Sutherland. The movie follows an enslaved Celtic gladiator who falls in love with a noblewoman on the eve of a massive volcanic eruption that destroys Pompeii. The screenplay is written Lee Batchler & Janet Scott Batchler (Batman Forever) and Michael Robert Johnson (Sherlock Holmes). Walt Disney Records will release a new soundtrack album for Disney’s classic musical Mary Poppins. The 50th Anniversary Edition features the film’s original songs composed by Richard Sherman and Robert Sherman performed by the movie’s cast. Also included are previously unreleased Sherman Brothers demo recordings. The soundtrack will be released later this month and coincides with the 50th Anniversary Blu-ray and DVD release of the film to be released on December 10, 2013. Mary Poppins is directed by Robert Stevenson and stars Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, David Tomlinson, Glynis Johns, Karen Dotrice and Matthew Garber. Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack release for Spike Lee’s upcoming mystery thriller Oldboy. The album features the film’s original score composed by Roque Banos (Evil Dead, The Machinist, Sexy Beast). La-La Land Records has announced a soundtrack release for Gus Van Sant’s 2011 drama Restless. The album features the film’s original score composed by Danny Elfman who has previously scored the director’s features Milk, Psychoand To Die For and also collaborated with Van Sant on last year’s Promised Land. The soundtrack is limited to 2000 copies and is now available to order on La-La Land’s official website, where you can also check out audio clips. Restless is produced by Ron and Bryce Dallas Howard and stars Mia Wasikowska and Henry Hooper.
