Expected to top the weekend box office is the sci-fi action adventure The Martian directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Pena, Kate Mara, Sean Bean, Kristen Wiig, Mackenzie Davis and Donald Glover. The film’s original music is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (Kingdom of Heaven, The Chronicles of Narnia). Columbia Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Opening in around 350 IMAX theaters before expanding nationwide on October 9 is the drama The Walk directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon and James Badge Dale. Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, The Avengers, Cast Away, Captain America: The First Avenger) has composed the film’s original music. The full details of the soundtrack album for the documentary He Named Me Malala have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Thomas Newman (American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo, Skyfall, The Road to Perdition). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 25, 2015 and physically on October 2. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. He Named Me Malala is directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth) and tells the story of Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager who survived a Taliban assassination attempt to become an outspoken, globally recognized advocate for girl’s rights.

‘He Named Me Malala’ to Feature Original Song by Alica Keys

Alica Keys has recorded an original song for Davis Guggenheim’s upcoming documentary He Named Me Malala. The song is entitled Story to Tell and is performed by the Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter and produced by Rick Rubin. The track will be included on the official soundtrack album for the film, which also features the movie’s original score by Thomas Newman and will be released on October 2, 2015 by Sony Classical. Thomas Newman Scoring Davis Guggenheim’s ‘He Named Me Malala’

Thomas Newman is composing the music for the upcoming documentary He Named Me Malala. The film is directed by Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth, Waiting for Superman) and tells the story of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, who was targeted by the Taliban and severely wounded by a gunshot when returning home on her school bus in Pakistan’s Swat Valley. The movie also examines how Malala, her father, Zia, and her family are now committed to fighting for education for all girls. Guggenheim is also producing the project with Walter Parkes & Laurie MacDonald (Men in Black, The Ring, Catch Me If You Can, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events).
