Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie comedy Expecting. The album features the film’s original score composed by Mark Kilian (Tsotsi, Rendition, Pitch Perfect). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 17, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Expecting is written and directed by Jessie McCormack and stars Michelle Monaghan, Radha Mitchell, Jon Dore, Michael Weston and Mimi Kennedy. The film follows a married women, who after years of trying to have a baby is shocked when her best friend finds herself pregnant after a one-night stand and offers to give her the child. The comedy premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and was picked up by Tribeca Film for domestic distribution. Christopher Drake to Score Kevin Smith’s ‘Tusk’

Kevin Smith revealed on his official blog (via Slashfilm) that composer Christopher Drake is composing the score for the upcoming horror film Tusk. The movie is written and directed by Smith and stars Justin Long, Genesis Rodriguez, Michael Parks and Haley Joel Osment. The film follows a podcaster who sets out to interview an eccentric, reclusive old seafarer, only to find himself a plaything in the gruesome plot of a deranged killer. Sam Englebardt (Diary of the Dead) and William D. Johnson (Paranoia, Byzantium) are producing the Demarest Pictures production, alongside Shannon McIntosh for Smith’s Smodcast Pictures. ‘Lethal Weapon’ Series Box Set and Expanded ‘Superman Returns’ Soundtrack Announced

La-La Land Records has announced a 8-CD box set for the action comedy series Lethal Weapon directed by Richard Donner and starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. The albums feature the original scores from all four movies composed by Michael Kamen (Die Hard, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves), Eric Clapton and David Sanborn. The scores for the first three installments have been expanded beyond their original soundtrack albums and the score for Lethal Weapon 4 makes its world premiere on the set. The albums also feature alternate cues, as well as cues that were unused in the final film. Also included are the songs from the films by artists including Sting, Elton John, George Harrison and The Beach Boys. Sony Classical will release a score album for Ben Stiller’s fantasy comedy drama The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. The album including the film’s original music composed by Theodore Shapiro (Tropic Thunder, The Devil Wears Prada, Marley & Me) and featuring vocals by Jose Gonzalez. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 13, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. As previously reported, Republic Records will release a separate soundtrack featuring the film’s songs, including Step Out and Stay Alive co-written by Shapiro and performed by Gonzalez. Marco Beltrami has been tapped to score the upcoming action thriller November Man. The film is directed by Roger Donaldson and stars Pierce Brosnan, Olga Kurylenko, Luke Bracey, Will Patton and Bill Smitrovich. The movie follows an ex-CIA operative who is pitted against his former pupil on a race to find a woman who is hiding from her past and who holds the key to an international conspiracy. Michael Finch (Predators) and Karl Gajdusek (Oblivion, Last Resort) have written the screenplay based on the book There Are No Spies by Bill Granger based on his 13-part November Man series. ‘Labor Day’ Soundtrack Announced

Warner Bros. Records will release a soundtrack album for Jason Reitman’s drama Labor Day. The album features the film’s original score composed by Rolfe Kent (Sideways, The Wedding Crashers, Election) who previously scored the director’s features Thank You for Smoking, Up in the Air and Young Adult. Also included are the songs from the film performed by Arlo Guthrie and Vashti Bunyan, as well as classical guitar pieces by Andrés Segovia and Shin-ichi Fukuda. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 17, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version will be coming out on January 28 and is available to order here. Labor Day starring Kate Winslet, Josh Brolin, Gattlin Griffith, Clark Gregg and Tobey Maguire follows a mother and son who encounter a man on a shopping trip who convinces them to take him into their home and later is revealed to be an escaped convict. The drama will receive an Academy Awards-qualifying theatrical run in Los Angeles later this year and is set to be released nationwide on January 31, 2014 by Paramount Pictures. Reinhold Heil has been hired to score the upcoming Syfy original series Helix. The drama is created by Cameron Porsandeh and stars Billy Campbell, Hiroyuki Sanada, Kyra Zagorsky, Jordan Hayes, Catherine Lemieux, Neil Napier and Mark Ghanime. The show follows a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who travel to a high-tech research facility in the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak, only to find themselves pulled into a life-and-death struggle that may hold the key to mankind’s salvation or total annihilation. Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, Outlander), Steven Maeda (Lost, The X-Files), and Lynda Obst (Contact) are executive producing the Sony Pictures Television and NBC Universal production. ‘Oldboy’ Soundtrack Details

Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for Spike Lee’s mystery thriller Oldboy. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Roque Banos (The Machinist, Evil Dead, Sexy Beast). Oldboy is based on the acclaimed Korean film from 2003 directed by Chan-wook Park and stars Josh Brolin, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen and Sharlto Copley. The movie follows an alcoholic advertising executive who is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement before he is released and embarks on an mission to discover who orchestrated his punishment. Hanan Townshend Scoring Terrence Malick’s ‘Knight of Cups’

Hanan Townshend is reuniting with director Terrence Malick on the upcoming drama Knight of Cups. The film is also written by Malick and stars Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Joel Kinnaman, Teresa Palmer, Wes Bentley, Imogen Poots, Nick Offerman, Isabel Lucas, Antonio Banderas, Jason Clarke and Freida Pinto. Recent reports indicate that not all listed actors will make the final cut of the movie. No specific plot details have been revealed yet. Sarah Green (The Tree of Life, Take Shelter, Mud) is producing the project with Nicolas Gonda (The Tree of Life, The New World). Townshend has previously scored Malick’s last feature To the Wonder.
