David Buckley is set to compose the music for the upcoming PBS original mini-series Mercy Street. The 6-parter is created by Lisa Q. Wolfinger & David Zabel (ER) and stars Josh Radnor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Gary Cole, Peter Gerety, Norbert Leo Butz, AnnaSophia Robb and Cherry Jones. The series follows the lives of two volunteer nurses on opposing sides of the Civil War – New England abolitionist Mary Phinney and Confederate supporter Emma Green. Wolfinger and Zabel are also executive producing the project with Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Thelma & Louise, Alien) and David W. Zucker (The Pillars of the Earth, Numb3rs) of Scott Free Productions. Madison Gate Records and Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the upcoming adventure horror comedy Goosebumps. The album features the film’s original music composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Edward Scissorhands). Anton Sanko has been tapped to score the upcoming psychological thriller Border Crossing. The film is directed by Bette Gordon and stars Josh Charles, Julia Stiles, Avan Jogia, Tracie Thoms, Leo Fitzpatrick and John C McGinley. The movie is based on the novel by Pat Barker and follows a psychologist who reopens old wounds and an old case after he rescues a drowning person whom he helped convict twelve years earlier. John Powell’s ‘Agent Cody Banks’ Score to Be Released

Intrada Records has announced the world premiere release of the complete original score for the 2003 action comedy Agent Cody Banks directed by Harald Zwart and starring Frankie Muniz and Hilary Duff. The album features the film’s original music written by Academy Award-nominated composer John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Happy Feet, Rio, Shrek). Hip-O Records has previously released a soundtrack album for the movie, which featured the songs from the comedy, as well as two cues from Powell’s score. Fox International Studios announced this week that Atticus Ross has been hired to score the upcoming Cinemax original series Outcast. The show is based on the Skybound/Image comic title by creator Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) and artist Paul Azaceta and follows a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life and, with the help of a preacher with personal demons of his own, embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. Two new movies opened nationwide this past Wednesday:
Opening in most theaters this week is the sci-fi action adventure Terminator Genisys directed by Alan Taylor and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-Hun Lee and JK Simmons. The film’s original music is composed by Lorne Balfe (Home, Penguins of Madagascar). Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. The Newton Brothers have been hired to score the upcoming indie drama Wolf Who Cried Boy. The film is written and directed by Luke Jaden & Cort Johns and stars Barkhad Abdi, Torrey Wigfield, Dwight Henry and Peter Carey. The movie centers on a young man who gets swept into the seedy underbelly of the scrapping industry. Jaden and Johns are also producing the project with Frank Capra III, Phil Wurtzel, Anthony Garth, Michael Zervos and Andy Henry. Wolf Who Cried Boy is currently in post-production.
