The 21st Century Symphony Orchestra has announced a concert featuring the performance of the Academy Award-winning original score for James Cameron’s epic historical drama Titanic performed live to projection. James Horner has composed the music for the film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet and received his first two Oscars for both his score and the original song My Heart Will Go On. The music will be performed by the 21st Century Symphony Orchestra and the Boys Choir Lucerne under the baton of Ludwig Wicki. Three concerts will be held on three consecutive days on March 13, 14 & 15, 2015 at the KKL Luzern Concert Hall in Lucerne, Switzerland.As previously announced, Titanic Live will also be performed on April 27, 2015 at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama Tracks. The album features the film’s original music by Garth Stevenson (Red Knot, Young Lakota). Brian Tyler and Tony Morales are scoring the new CBS drama Scorpion. The show is created by Nick Santora (Prison Break, Breakout Kings) and stars Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, Robert Patrick, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Jadyn Wong and Ari Stidham. The series follows an eccentric genius and his team of brilliant misfits who comprise the last line of defense against complex, high-tech threats of the modern age. Santora is also executive producing the CBS Television Studios production with Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Alias), Nicholas Wootton (NYPD Blue, Chuck), Heather Kadin (Sleepy Hollow) Scooter Braun (Justin Bieber’s Believe) and Walter O’Brien. Justin Lin has directed the pilot episode and is also executive producing the project. The details of the soundtrack album for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s comedy drama Birdman have been revealed. The album features the film’s original drum music written by Antonio Sanchez. Alex Ebert is reuniting with director J.C. Chandor to score the upcoming crime drama A Most Violent Year. The film stars Oscar Isaac, Jessica Chastain, Alessandro Nivola, David Oyelowo and Albert Brooks. The movie is set in New York City during the winter of 1981 and follows the lives of an immigrant family trying to expand their business and capitalize on opportunities amid violence, decay and corruption. Chandor (Margin Call) has also written the screenplay and is producing the project with Neal Dodson and Anna Gerb. Ebert who is best known as the lead vocalist of the band Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros has previously collaborated with Chandor on last year’s All Is Lost starting Robert Redford and went on to receive a Golden Globe for his score. Harry Gregson-Williams revealed in a recent interview with Film Music Magazine that he is reuniting with director Antoine Fuqua on his next feature Southpaw. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel McAdams, Naomie Harris, Forest Whitaker, Victor Ortiz, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Miguel Gomez. The movie follows a welterweight champion who rises in his profession while his personal life falls apart. Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy) has written the screenplay. Alan Riche (Starsky & Hutch, Family Man, Deep Blue Sea) and Peter Riche are producing the project with Todd Black & Jason Blumenthal (The Pursuit of Happyness, The Weather Man, Knowing, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3). Gregson-Williams has previously collaborated with Fuqua on 1997’s The Replacement Killers and most recently on The Equalizer starring Denzel Washington, which is set to be released later this month. Nick Urata has been tapped to score the upcoming family comedy Paddington. The film is written and directed by Paul King (Come Fly With Me, Bunny and the Bull) and stars Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Nicole Kidman, Jim Broadbent and Peter Capaldi. Ben Whishaw provides the voice of Paddington. The movie is based on Michael Bond’s best-selling novels and tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear who travels to the city in search of a home. David Heyman (Harry Potter series, Gravity, I Am Legend) is producing the Studiocanal production.
