Premiering on Monday, September 21, is the new NBC drama Blindspot created by Martin Gero, executive produced by Greg Berlanti and starring Jaimie Alexander, Sullivan Stapleton, Audrey Esparza, Rob Brown, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Ukweli Roach and Ashley Johnson. The show’s original music is composed by Blake Neely (Arrow, The Flash, The Mentalist, Everwood, Brothers & Sisters). Also premiering on Monday is the new Fox drama Minority Report executive produced by Max Borenstein, Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Mark Mylod & Kevin Falls and starring Stark Sands, Meagan Good, Wilmer Valderrama, Daniel London, Laura Regan, Li Jun Li and Zhane Hall. Sean Callery (24, Homeland, Bones, Jessica Jones) is composing the show’s original music. Decca Records to Release ‘Spectre’ Soundtrack

Decca Records will release the official soundtrack album for the 24th James Bond movie, Spectre. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Thomas Newman (American Beauty, Finding Nemo, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Wall-E) who previously scored the last installment in the series, Skyfall. The soundtrack will be released physically on November 13, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A digital version is expected to come out a week or two earlier. Spectre is directed by Sam Mendes and stars Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux, Monica Bellucci, David Bautista and Andrew Scott. ‘Freeheld’ Soundtrack Details

WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for the drama Freeheld. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception, The Lion King, Gladiator, Interstellar) and The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 25, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Freeheld is directed by Peter Sollett and stars Julianne Moore, Ellen Page, Michael Shannon and Steve Carell. The movie movie tells the story of Laurel Helster, a New Jersey police officer and her girlfriend who both battle to secure Hester’s pension benefits after she’s diagnosed with a terminal illness. ‘The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show’ Soundtrack Announced

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s series The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by The Outfit, including the theme song. Also included are original tracks from the series by Jukebox the Ghost, JD McPherson, Wordsworth and Prince Paul and Ra Ra Riot. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 2, 2015 and physically in December. Visit Amazon to pre-order the album. The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show features the voices of Chris Parnell and Max Charles as the title characters. The show based on last year’s feature sees Peabody & Sherman as the hosts of a latenight comedy show broadcast from their swank Manhattan penthouse in front of a live studio audience. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Expected to top the weekend box office is the sci-fi action adventure The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials directed by Wes Ball and starring Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Ki Hong Lee, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Patricia Clarkson, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Rosa Salazar, Aidan Gillen, Jacob Lofland, Barry Pepper and Lili Taylor. The film’s original music is composed by John Paesano (Daredevil, When the Game Stands Tall) who previously scored the first part in the series. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Also opening wide is the crime drama Black Mass directed by Scott Cooper and starring Johnny Depp, Joel Edgerton, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kevin Bacon, Dakota Johnson, Jesse Plemons, Corey Stoll, Rory Cochrane, Sienna Miller and Adam Scott. Tom Holkenborg (Mad Max: Fury Road, Divergent, 300: Rise of an Empire) has composed the film’s original score. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Justin Kurzel’s ‘Macbeth’ Soundtrack Details

Decca Records will release a soundtrack album for Justin Kurzel’s drama Macbeth. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jed Kurzel (The Babadook, Slow West, The Snowtown Murders, Son of a Gun). The soundtrack will be released overseas on October 2, 2015 and in the U.S. on December 4. Visit Amazon to pre-order the album. Macbeth is based on the play by William Shakespeare and stars Michael Fassbender, Marion Cottilard, Sean Harris, Elizabeth Debicki, Paddy Considine and David Thewlis. John Debney to Score Mel Gibson’s ‘Hacksaw Ridge’

John Debney confirmed in a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter that he is set to reteam with Mel Gibson on the upcoming historical drama Hacksaw Ridge. The film starring Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey and Vince Vaughn is based on the life of Desmond T. Doss, a medic and the first conscientious objector who won the Congressional Medal of Honor after saving dozens of soldiers during the Battle of Okinawa. Randall Wallace (We Were Soldiers, Braveheart) and Robert Schenkkan (The Quiet American) have written the screenplay. Read the rest of this entry »

The 8-CD set features the scores for Wes Craven’s original movie composed by Charles Bernstein, A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge written by Christopher Young, A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors composed by Angelo Badalamenti, A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master written by Craig Safan, A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child composed by Jay Ferguson, Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare written by Brian May, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare composed by J. Retrospective: The Music of ‘Mad Men’ Soundtrack Announced

Republic Records, in partnership with Chop Shop Music and Lionsgate Entertainment will release a new soundtrack album for the AMC hit series Mad Men. The album features a collection of songs from all seven seasons of the show by artists including Bob Dylan, Roberta Flack, The Beach Boys, Bobby Helms, RJD2, Frank Sinatra, The New Seekers, Vic Damone, as well as actors Christina Hendricks, Robert Morse, Jessica Paré & more. Also included are two suites from the drama’s original score composed by David Carbonara. Retrospective: The Music of Mad Men will be released digitally on October 9, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Mad Men created by Matthew Weiner and starring Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, Vincent Kartheiser, January Jones, Christina Hendricks, Bryan Batt, Michael Gladis, Aaron Staton, Rich Sommer, Maggie Siff and John Slattery aired between 2007 and 2015 on AMC. Toby Chu to Score ‘The Wolves at the Door’

Toby Chu has signed on to score the upcoming period thriller The Wolves at the Door. The film is directed by John Leonetti (Annabelle, The Butterfly Effect 2) and stars Katie Cassidy, Miles Fisher, Elizabeth Henstridge and Adam Campbell. The movie is inspired by the horrifying Manson Family murders that shocked Los Angeles in 1969 and follows a group of friends who endure a terrifying home invasion. Gary Dauberman (Annabelle, Within) has written the screenplay. Peter Safran (The Conjuring, Buried, New in Town, Meet the Spartans) is producing the New Line Cinema production.
