Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them directed by David Yates and starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton, Ezra Miller, Jon Voight, Dan Fogler, Carmen Ejogo and Alison Sudol. The film’s original music is composed by James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, The Sixth Sense, King Kong, Maleficent). Also opening wide is the coming-of-age comedy drama The Edge of Seventeen written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig, produced by James L. Brooks and starring Hailee Steinfeld, Woody Harrelson, Kyra Sedgwick, Haley Lu Richardson, Blake Jenner and Hayden Szeto. Atli Orvarsson (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Vantage Point, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones) has composed the film’s original score. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by Santigold, Aimee Mann, The Struts, A$AP Ferg & more. ‘Hunter Gatherer’ Soundtrack Released

A soundtrack album has been released for the indie drama Hunter Gatherer. The album features the film’s original music composed by Keegan DeWitt (I’ll See You in My Dreams, Divorce, Queen of Earth, Morris from America). The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio samples. Hunter Gatherer is written and directed by Josh Locy and stars Andre Royo, George Sample III, Kellee Stewart and Ashley Wilkerson. Adam Taylor Scoring Ry Russo-Young’s ‘Before I Fall’

Adam Taylor has composed the original music for the upcoming comedy drama Before I Fall. The film is directed by Ry Russo-Young (Nobody Walks) and stars Zoey Deutch, Halston Sage, Logan Miller, Kian Lawley, Elena Kampouris, Diego Boneta, Jennifer Beals, Cynthy Wu and Medalion Rahimi. The movie is based on the 2010 novel of same title by Lauren Oliver and follows a young woman who is stuck reliving the day of her death during one inexplicable week and untangles the mystery surrounding her death. Nicholas Britell, John Debney & Alexandre Desplat Win Hollywood Music in Media Awards

Last night, the 7th Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMAA) were handed out at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Nicholas Britell was honored with his first HMMA award for his score for Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight in the Original Score – Feature Film category. John Debney was awarded for his music for Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film category. He previously received an Outstanding Career Achievement award at the inaugural Hollywood Music in Media Awards show in 2009. Alexandre Desplat won his first HMMA for his work on The Secret Life of Pets in the Animated Film category and Mark Adler was honored for his score for Command and Control in the Documentary category. Sia’s ‘Never Give Up’ from ‘Lion’ Released

Sony Classical has released the original song Never Give Up from Garth Davis’ drama Lion. The track is performed by Sia and produced by Greg Kurstin. The song is now available to download on Amazon and will also be featured on the official soundtrack album alongside the movie’s score by Dustin O’Halloran & Hauschka. Lion starring Dev Patel, Rooney Mara, David Wenham, Divian Ladwa, Priyanka Bose and Pallavi Sharda tells the true story of Saroo Brierley, who was adopted by an Australian couple after being separated from his family in India at the age of five. ‘Brahman Naman’ Soundtrack Released

Rhino Records has released a soundtrack album for the Indian period comedy Brahman Naman. The album features the film’s original music composed by Neel and Miti Adhikari, as well as a track by Gandu Circus. The soundtrack is now available to download digitally overseas. No word yet on a domestic release date. Brahman Naman is directed by Q and stars Shashank Arora, Tanmay Dhanania, Chaitanya Varad, Vaiswath Shankar, Sindhu Sreenivasa Murthy and Sid Mallya. Neel and Miti Adhikari have composed the film’s original music. Soundtrack for Disney’s ‘Inner Workings’ to Be Released

Walt Disney Records will release the music for the the animated short Inner Workings. The film’s original score is composed by Ludwig Goransson (Creed, Community, Fruitvale Station, New Girl, Central Intelligence, 30 Minutes or Less). The soundtrack will be released as a digital single tomorrow and is available to pre-order here. Inner Workings is written and directed by Leonardo Matsuda and tells the story of the internal struggle between a man’s pragmatic, logical side and his free-spirited, adventurous half. The short will be playing in front of Disney Animation’s feature Moana, which will be released on November 23, 2016 by Walt Disney Pictures.

‘La La Land’ Soundtrack Details

The details of the soundtrack album for Damien Chazelle’s movie musical La La Land have been revealed. The album features the original songs from the movie performed by the film’s cast and written by Justin Hurwitz (Whiplash) and featuring lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, as well as selections from Hurwitz’s score. Also included is the original song Start a Fire performed by John Legend who also co-wrote the song with Hurwtiz, Marius de Vries and Angelique Cinelu. The soundtrack will be released on December 9, 2016 by Interscope Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A separate soundtrack featuring Hurwitz’s original score will be also be released around the same time. Check back on this page for updates. Soundtrack for Netflix’s ‘The White Helmets’ Announced

Air-Edel Records will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original documentary The White Helmets. The album features the film’s original music composed by Patrick Jonsson (Virunga, Frame by Frame). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 18, and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The White Helmets is directed by Orlando von Einsiedel and centers on a small group of volunteer heroes, the White Helmets, as they defy death, dodging bombs and sniper fire, to rescue Syrians from the bombs that fall incessantly on their towns and cities.
