WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for David Gordon Green’s political comedy drama Our Brand Is Crisis. The album features the film’s original music composed by David Wingo (Take Shelter, Mud, The Sitter, All the Real Girls). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 23, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Our Brand Is Crisis is produced by George Clooney and stars Sandra Bullock, Billy Bob Thornton, Anthony Mackie, Joaquim de Almeida, Ann Dowd, Scoot McNairy and Zoe Kazan. The movie is based on the 2005 documentary of the same title and follows a group of American consultants who accept the challenge of getting an unpopular Bolivian president re-elected. Mac Quayle to Score FX’s ‘American Crime Story’

Mac Quayle has signed on to score the upcoming FX original limited series American Crime Story. The first season of the show, entitled The People v. O.J. Simpson, is based on the book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin and follows the O.J. Simpson trial told from the perspective of the lawyers. The drama’s cast includes Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J. Simpson, John Travolta, David Schwimmer, Courtney B. Vance as defense attorneys Robert Shapiro, Robert Kardashian as Johnnie Cochran, Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark and Bruce Greenwood as Los Angeles County District Attorney Gil Garcetti. Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for Paul Verhoeven’s 1992 thriller Basic Instinct starring Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas. The album features the complete score from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, Planet of the Apes, The Omen, Patton) and recorded with the National Philharmonic Orchestra. Also included is the content of the original 1992 soundtrack album, as well as a number of bonus tracks including alternate cues. John Williams to Receive AFI Lifetime Achievement Award

The American Film Institute Board of Trustees announced today that John Williams will be honored with the 44th AFI Life Achievement Award, America’s highest honor for a career in film. For the first time in AFI history, the award will be bestowed upon a composer. Williams will receive the award at a gala Tribute on June 9, 2016 in Los Angeles, CA. The composer of such films as Star Wars, E.T., Jaws, Schindler’s List and Jurassic Park has received five Academy Awards, as well as 49 nominations and holds the record for the most Oscar nominations of any living person. The AFI Life Achievement Award Tribute special will air on TNT in late June 2016, followed by an encore presentation on its sister network, Turner Classic Movies (TCM).
‘Amy’ Soundtrack Announced

Island Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Amy. The album features the songs from the movie by the film’s subject Amy Winehouse, including live versions of such tracks as Rehab, Valerie, What It Is About Men, We’re Still Friends & more. Also included is the movie’s original score composed by Antonio Pinto (Senna, City of God, Lord of War, McFarland, USA). The soundtrack will be released on October 30, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. James Newton Howard to Return for ‘The Huntsman’

James Newton Howard is currently scoring the upcoming fantasy adventure The Huntsman. The film is a prequel/spin-off to the 2012 feature Snow White and the Huntsman and is directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan who served as the visual effect supervisor on Rupert Sanders’ original movie and makes his feature directorial debut with the project. Chris Hemsworth returns to star in the title role and is joined by returning cast members Charlize Theron, Sam Claflin and Nick Frost, as well as new additions Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain, Colin Morgan, Sheridan Smith, Rob Brydon and Alexandra Roach. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Lenny Abrahamson’s indie drama Room. The album features the film’s original music composed by Stephen Rennicks who previously collaborated with the director on last year’s Frank. Also included is Brie Larson’s performance of Big Rock Candy Mountain and This Will Destroy You’s The Mighty Rio Grande. Bone Tomahawk is written and directed by Zahler and stars Kurt Russell, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox, Lili Simmons and Richard Jenkins. The movie follows four men set out in the Wild West to rescue a group of captives from cannibalistic cave dwellers. Anne Dudley is currently recording her score for the upcoming dramatic thriller Elle. The film is directed by Paul Verhoeven and stars Isabelle Huppert. Laurent Lafitte, Charles Berling and Anne Consigny. The movie is based on the novel Oh… by Phillippe Dijan and follows a CEO of a gaming software company who is attacked in her home by an unknown assailant. When it appears that her assailant is not finished with her, she decides to stalk him back. David Birke (13 Sins) has written the screenplay.
