Rectangle Productions has released a soundtrack album for the French romantic drama Marguerite & Julien. The album features the film’s original music composed by French electronic music producer/DJ Yuksek aka Pierre-Alexandre Busson. Also included are the songs Oh My Love by The Artwoods and Past, Present and Future by The Shangri-Las. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Marguerite & Julien is directed by Valerie Donzelli and stars Anais Demoustier, Jeremie Elkaim, Frederic Pierrot, Aurelia Petit, Raoul Fernandez and Catherine Mouchet. Three new movies opened nationwide this past Wednesday:
Playing in most theaters is the animated feature The Good Dinosaur directed by Peter Sohn and featuring the voices of Raymond Ochoa, Jack Bright, Frances McDormand, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Elliott, Anna Paquin, Marcus Scribner, A.J. Buckley and Steve Zahn. The film’s original music is composed by Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Capote) and Jeff Danna (The Boondock Saints, Silent Hill). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score. Click here for the full album details. Also playing nationwide is the sports drama Creed directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad and Anthony Bellews. Ludwig Goransson (Fruitvale Station, Community, We’re the Millers, 30 Minutes or Less) has composed the film’s original music. Michl Britsch Scoring ‘Trash Fire’

Michl Britsch is composing the score for the upcoming horror comedy Trash Fire. The film is written and directed by Richard Bates Jr. (Excision) and stars Adrian Grenier, Angela Trimbur, Fionnula Flanagan, AnnaLynne McCord, Matthew Gray Gubler, Sally Kirkland, Ray Santiago, Ezra Buzzington and Molly McCool. The movie follows a man who is forced to confront his past when he and his girlfriend end up entangled in a web of lies, deceit and murder. Expanded ‘Braveheart’ Soundtrack Announced

La-La Land Records has announced a new expanded and remastered soundtrack release for Mel Gibson’s Academy Award-winning 1995 drama Braveheart starring Gibson himself, as well as Sophie Marceau, Patrick McGoohan, Catherine McCormack and Angus Macfadyen. The album coincides with the 20th Anniversary of the movie and features the film’s original music composed and conducted by James Horner (Titanic, Avatar, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) who received an Oscar nomination for his score. The 2-CD set, which is limited to 3000 copies, features previously unreleased music, as well as source music tracks and additional alternate cues. Königskinder Music will release a soundtrack album for the drama The Fencer (Miekkailija). The album features the film’s original music composed by Gert Wilden Jr.. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 10, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. The Fencer is directed by Klaus Härö and marks the Finnish entry for the Best Foreign Language category at the next Academy Awards. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the SundanceTV original series Deutschland 83. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Reinhold Heil (Run Lola Run, Cloud Atlas, Helix, Legends, The International). The soundtrack is now available digitally in Germany and a CD release is set for next month. The album will be released in the U.S. on December 11 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Deutschland 83 is created by Anna & Joerg Winger and stars Jonas Nay, Maria Schrader, Ulrich Noethen, Sylvester Groth, Errol T. Harwood and Sonja Gerhardt. The series follows a 24-year-old East Germany native who is sent to the west as an undercover spy for the Stasi foreign service to gather the secrets of NATO military strategy. Michael Giacchino to Score Brad Bird’s ‘The Incredibles 2’

Brad Bird announced today on Twitter that Michael Giacchino has signed on to compose the music for Pixar’s upcoming sequel The Incredibles 2. The composer was previously attached and expected to score the film given his involvement in the original movie, as well as Bird’s other last three features, Ratatouille, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and Tomorrowland. No plot details and casting announcements have been made yet for the sequel. The project will mark Giacchino’s sixth project for Pixar Animation Studios. Read the rest of this entry »
