The singer/songwriter announced on Twitter today: “Last year we were asked to write a tune for Bond movie Spectre. Yes we were…it didn’t work out…but became something of our own which we love very much…As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it. Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.” The track is available to stream after the jump. Sam Smith performed the song Writing’s On the Wall, which was ultimately chosen as the title track for Spectre. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the critically acclaimed USA original series Mr. Robot. The album will feature selections from the Golden Globe-nominated show’s original music composed by Mac Quayle (American Horror Story: Freak Show & Hotel, Scream Queens). The soundtrack is set to be released in the summer of 2016 before the drama’s second season premiere. As previously reported, a soundtrack was originally planned for a release to coincide with the show’s home video release in January. The full details of the album will be posted on this page as they are announced. The film is written and directed by Matt Ross (28 Hotel Rooms) and stars Viggo Mortensen, Frank Langella, George MacKay, Kathryn Hahn, Steve Zahn and Ann Dowd. The movie follows a father devoted to raising his six kids with a rigorous physical and intellectual education who is forced to leave the forests of the Pacific Northwest and to re-enter society. Lynette Howell Taylor (Big Eyes, Half Nelson) and Jamie Patricof (Blue Valentine, The Place Beyond the Pines) are producing the project with Shivani Rawat & Monica Levinson (Trumbo, Bruno). fuller-houseSinger Carly Rae Jespen has announced on Twitter (via Variety) that she has teamed up with record producer Butch Walker to record a new version of the Full House theme song Everywhere You Look for the upcoming Netflix original series Fuller House. The song is written by Jesse Frederick and Bennett Salvay and was featured in the ABC show, which ran from 1987 to 1995. Fuller House is created by Jeff Franklin and stars Candace Cameron-Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber and John Stamos. ouija-2The Newton Brothers are reteaming with director Mike Flanagan on the upcoming horror thriller Ouija 2. The film is a sequel to last year’s hit horror feature Ouija and stars Annalise Basso, Elizabeth Reaser, Henry Thomas, Lulu Wilson, Parker Mack, Sam Anderson, Kate Siegel, and Doug Jones. No plot details have been announced yet. Flanagan has also co-written the screenplay with Jeff Howard. Michael Bay (Transformers, Armageddon), Brad Fuller & Andrew Form (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Purge, Friday the 13th) are producing the project for Platinum Dunes, alongside Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious) for Blumhouse Productions, Trevor Mercy and Brian Goldner & Stephen Davis (G.I. suitedOwen Pallett is scoring the upcoming documentary Suited. The film is directed by Jason Benjamin and centers on Bindle & Keep, a Brooklyn tailoring company that is known for making custom suits for a growing legion of gender-nonconforming clients. Benjamin is also producing the project with Lena Dunham (GirlsTiny Furniture), Jenni Konner (Girls), Carly Hugo (Higher GroundMother of George), Stacey Reiss and Ericka Naegle. muhammadSony Music India will release a soundtrack album for the Iranian epic drama Muhammad: The Messenger of God. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, Couples Retreat, The Hundred-Foot Journey). The soundtrack will be released tomorrow, December 23 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Muhammad: The Messenger of God is directed by Majid Majidi and stars Mahdi Pakdel, Alireza Shoja Nouri, Mohsen Tanabandeh, Dariush Farhang, Seyed Sadegh Hatefi, Sareh Bayat and Mina Sadati. The movie is set in the sixth century and revolves around the childhood of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. The drama, which marks Iran’s biggest film production to date and was submitted as the Iranian candidate for this year’s Academy Awards, was released in Iran and other markets earlier this year.
