Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for Stephen Gaghan’s drama Gold starring Matthew McConaughey, Bryce Dallas Howard, Edgar Ramirez, Corey Stoll, Toby Kebbell, Bruce Greenwood and Stacy Keach. Republic Records will release the original song The Empty Chair from the documentary Jim: The James Foley Story. The track is written by Academy Award nominee J. Ralph (Lucky Number Slevin, The Cove, Chasing Ice) and Sting who also performs the song, which will be released tomorrow as a digital single and is now available to download on Amazon. Jim: The James Foley Story is directed by Brian Oakes and centers on the life and work of American journalist James Foley, who was killed by ISIS terrorists in 2014. The drama is directed by Kevin Hooks (Prison Break, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) and stars Laurence Fishburne as Nelson Mandela, alongside Orlando Jones, David Harewood, Michael Nyqvist and Terry Pheto. The 3-parter is based on two Mandela autobiographies, Conversations With Myself and Nelson Mandela by Himself and tells the story of a younger Nelson Mandela during the early-60s as he deals with the political unrest engulfing South Africa. The film directed by Bonni Cohen & Jon Shenk (The Island President, Audrie & Daisy) is the sequel to the 2006 documentary An Inconvenient Truth and follows Vice President Al Gore as he continues his tireless fight, traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy.
