The full details of the Walt Disney Records Legacy Collection release for the 1991 animated classic Beauty and the Beast have been revealed. The album features the remastered original songs and score from the film composed by Alan Menken (Aladdin, Enchanted, The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Tangled), as well as seven demo tracks. Howard Ashman provided the songs’ lyrics. Menken’s score and the composers’ title song were honored with Academy Awards in 1992. The 2-CD set will be released on February 9, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Beauty and the Beast is directed by Gary Trousdale & Kirk Wise and features the voices of Paige O’Hara, Robby Benson, Richard White, Jerry Orbach, David Ogden Stiers and Angela Lansbury. Lorne Balfe (The LEGO Batman Movie, Terminator Genisys, The Crown, Home) has recently composed the score for the upcoming sci-fi action adventure Pacific Rim Uprising. The film is directed by Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil, Spartacus) and stars John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian, Cailee Spaeny, Rinko Kikuchi, Burn Gorman, Adria Arjona and Charlie Day. The movie follows Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, as he reunites with Mako Mori to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots against a new Kaiju threat.
