The film is written and directed by Karen Maine (Obvious Child) and stars Natalia Dyer, Timothy Simons, Alisha Boe, Francesca Reale, Wolfgang Novogratz and Donna Lynne Champlin. Milan Records to Release ‘Widows’ Soundtrack

Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for Steve McQueen’s heist thriller Widows. Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, Inception, The Dark Knight, The Lion King, Dunkirk, Pirates of the Caribbean) who previously composed the music for the director’s 12 Years a Slave has composed the film’s original score. Also expected to be included are the songs from the film. As previously reported, Sade has contributed the original song The Big Unknown to the movie. Stelvio Cipriani has passed away today at age 81. The Italian composer has scored over 200 movies and TV shows over an almost five decade-spanning career. Among his best known scoring credits are Umberto Lenzi’s Nightmare City, James Cameron’s Piranha II: The Spawning, Mario Bava’s A Bay of Blood and Rabid Dogs, Ovidio G. Assonitis’ Tentacles, J.Piquer Simon’s Pieces and Antonio Bido’s Bloodstained Shadow. His main theme for 1973’s The Great Kidnapping (La polizia sta a guardare) was featured prominently in Quentin Tarantino’s 2007 feature Death Proof.
