Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the supernatural horror thriller The Nun directed by Corin Hardy and starring Demian Bichir, Taissa Farmiga, Jonas Bloquet, Charlotte Hope, Ingrid Bisu and Bonnie Aarons. The film’s original music is composed by Abel Korzeniowski (A Single Man, Penny Dreadful, W.E., Nocturnal Animals, Romeo & Juliet). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Check out our previous article for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the action thriller Peppermint directed by Pierre Morel and starring Jennifer Garner, John Ortiz, John Gallagher Jr. and Juan Pablo Raba. Simon Franglen (The Magnificent Seven, Ice, The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair) has composed the film’s original score. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as two songs by Geno Lenardo and Ash Costello. Lorne Balfe to Score Peter Cattaneo’s ‘Military Wives’

Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, The Crown, Genius, Home) is set to compose the original score for the upcoming drama Military Wives. The film is directed by Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty, Opal Dream, The Rocker) and will star Kristin Scott Thomas and Sharon Horgan. The movie is inspired by a BBC factual series about a choirmaster who selects and trains amateur singers and follows a group of wives and girlfriends of soldiers serving abroad who form a choir on a military base. ‘Smallfoot’ Soundtrack Details

The full details of the soundtrack album for the animated feature Smallfoot have been revealed. The album features the songs from the movie written by Wayne Kirkpatrick & director Karey Kirkpatrick and performed by the project’s voice cast including Channing Tatum, Zendaya, James Corden, Common, as well as CYN. Also included is the film’s original score composed by Heitor Pereira (Despicable Me, Minions, The Angry Birds Movie). The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on September 28. ‘Final Score’ Soundtrack Released

‘Hurricane’ Soundtrack Details

Beth Krakower (1971 – 2018)

Publicist Beth Krakower who specialized in promoting film/TV composers and soundtrack albums/cast recordings has passed away yesterday, September 5, at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica after a nearly two year battle with breast cancer. She was 46. Among her clients were composers Cliff Martinez (Drive, Traffic), Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, 10 Cloverfield Lane), Rolfe Kent (Sideways, Wedding Crashers), Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Pollock), Lalo Schifrin (Mission: Impossible, Rush Hour), Blake Neely (Arrow, The Flash) and Michael Abels (Get Out). Soundtrack Details for Joan Jett Documentary ‘Bad Reputation’

Legacy Recordings will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Bad Reputation. The album features the classic songs from the movie performed by Joan Jett and her bands The Blackhearts and The Runaways, as well as Bikini Kill’s Rebel Girl (produced by Jett), Fea’s song Feminazi and Jett’s, Miley Cyrus’ & Laura Jane Grace’s cover of The Replacement’s Androgynous. The soundtrack will be released on September 28, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Bad Reputation is directed by Kevin Kerslake and follows Jett from her early years as the founder and backbone of the all-female band the Runaways during the 1970s punk scene. Singer/songwriter Jamie Cullum has recorded a new version of the hit song The Man by The Killers. The track is featured during the credits of the heist thriller King of Thieves directed by James Marsh and starring Michael Caine, Tom Courtenay, Ray Winstone, Jim Broadbent, Charlie Cox, Paul Whitehouse, Michael Gambon and Francesca Annis. ‘Iron Fist’ Season 2 Soundtrack Details

The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Robert Lydecker (xXx: Return of Xander Cage, Designated Survivor, Sleepy Hollow, Lethal Weapon). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 7 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. The labels have previously released a soundtrack featuring Trevor Morris’ score from the series’ first season.
