Singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles will provide original music for the upcoming half-hour dramedy Little Voice for Apple’s streaming service. The show created by Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam, Stepmom) is described as a “love letter to the diverse musicality of New York” and explores the universal journey of finding your authentic voice in your early 20s. Bareilles and Nelson are also executive producing the project with J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Lost, Star Trek) and Ben Stephenson (Westworld). Read the rest of this entry »

Bear McCreary is scoring the upcoming thriller Welcome Home. The film is directed by George Ratliff (Joshua, Salvation Boulevard) and stars Aaron Paul and Emily Ratajkowski. The movie revolves around a couple who spends a weekend at a vacation rental home in the Italian countryside in an attempt to repair their relationship, but soon become victims of the homeowner’s sinister plans. David Levinson wrote the screenplay. Screen Daily is reporting that Gary Yershon is in talks to score the upcoming British comedy Brighton. The film is directed by Stephen Cookson (Stanley A Man Of Variety) and stars Phil Davis, Larry Lamb, Marion Bailey and Ruth Sheen. The movie is based on Steven Berkoff’s stage play Brighton Beach Scumbags and follows two older couples from the East End of London who travel to Brighton having not visited the seaside town in more than 30 years and reflect on how times have changed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Toydrum (aka Pablo Clements & James Griffith) (Detour, Prevenge, London Fields). La-La Land Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the Arrowverse crossover event Crisis on Earth-X featuring episodes of the CW’s Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow. The album features the original music from the four episodes composed by Blake Neely (Riverdale, Life as We Know It, The Pacific, Blindspot), Nathaniel Blume, Daniel Chan and Sherri Chung. The 2-CD set is limited to 3000 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website. WaterTower Music is expected to release a digital version within the next couple of weeks. Composer Stephen Rennicks is reuniting with director Lenny Abrahamson on the upcoming supernatural horror thriller The Little Stranger. The film starring Domhnall Gleeson, Ruth Wilson, Will Poulter and Charlotte Rampling is based on Sarah Waters’ 2009 novel of the same title and takes place in post-WWII Britain, where a doctor revisits a crumbling great house where his mother once worked as a nurse maid and becomes obsessed with marrying one of the owner’s daughters.
