The only movie opening nationwide this week is Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel directed by Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck and starring Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Mckenna Grace, Annette Bening, Clark Gregg and Jude Law. The film’s original music is composed by Pinar Toprak (Krypton, The Angel, Fornite). Marvel Music & Hollywood Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Opening in limited release is the drama Gloria Bell written and directed by Sebastian Lelio and starring Julianne Moore, John Turturro, Michael Cera, Caren Pistorius, Brad Garrett, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Rita Wilson, Sean Astin and Holland Taylor. Matthew Herbert (Disobedience, A Fantastic Woman, Life in a Day) has composed the film’s original music. ‘Bolden’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Blue Engine Records has announced a soundtrack album for the biographical drama Bolden. The album features original music from the film written, arranged and performed by Wynton Marsalis. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on April 19, 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Bolden is directed by Dan Pritzker and stars Gary Carr in the title role, alongside Erik LaRay Harvey, Yaya DaCosta, Ian McShane and Michael Rooker. The movie, which was scored by Mark Isham & Scott Steiner, tells the story of Buddy Bolden, a New Orleans cornet player who was a key figure in the development of ragtime music. Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for the thriller Dragged Across Concrete. The album features the film’s original songs composed by  Jeff Herriott & director S. Craig Zahler (Bone Tomahawk, Brawl in Cell Block 99). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 22 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Dragged Across Concrete is written and directed by Zahler and stars Mel Gibson, Vince Vaughn, Tory Kittles, Michael Jai White, Jennifer Carpenter, Laurie Holden, Fred Melamed and Thomas Kretschmann. The album features the songs from the movie by artists such as Rooney, Nick Lowe, Phony Ppl, Phoenix, dev09, Beat Club, SWIMM, Kim Petras & others. Mercury Nashville will release a soundtrack album for the faith-based drama Breakthrough. The album features a collection of songs from and inspired by the film, including the original song I’m Standing with You performed by lead actress Chrissy Metz (already coming out tomorrow), as well as tracks by Mickey Guyton, Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina, Jukebox the Ghost, Adam Hambrick, Pigeon John & others. The full details of the soundtrack album for Carol Morley’s neo-noir drama Out of Blue have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, The Fountain, Moon, Noah). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 15 by Lakeshore Records and is now available for pre-order here. A vinyl edition is also in the works. Out of Blue is written and directed by Morley and stars Patricia Clarkson, Toby Jones, Jacki Weaver, James Caan, Mamie Gummer, Aaron Tveit, Yolanda Ross, Jonathan Majors and Devyn Tyler. The album features the film’s original music composed by Antonio Pinto (City of God, McFarland, USA, Lord of War, Amy, Self/less), as well as the end credits song Lelo Ndakwanitsa written & performed by the composer and Lily Banda. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 8 and will be available to download here. The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind marks the feature directorial debut of Chiwetel Ejiofor who also stars in the drama with Maxwell Simba, Aïssa Maïga, Lily Banda, Lemogang Tsipa, Philbert Falakeza, Joseph Marcell and Noma Dumezweni. Anthony Gonzalez has announced a soundtrack album for the French thriller Knife + Heart. The album features the film’s original music composed by M83 (Oblivion, You and the Night). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 8 and will be available to download on Amazon. A vinyl version is set to come out on April 26 by Mute Records. Knife + Heart is co-written and directed by Yann Gonzalez and stars Vanessa Paradis, Nicolas Maury, Kate Moran, Jonathan Genet, Romane Bohringer.
