Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the live-action remake of Disney’s Aladdin directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen and Numan Acar. The film’s original score is composed by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as all songs from movie, including a new song written by Menken and featuring lyrics by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul. Also opening wide is the coming-of-age comedy Booksmart directed by Olivia Wilde and starring Kaitlyn Dever, Beanie Feldstein, Jessica Williams, Will Forte, Lisa Kudrow and Jason Sudeikis. Hip hop producer Dan the Automator has composed the film’s original score. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the score.
