‘Little’ Soundtrack Details

Back Lot Music will release the official soundtrack album for the comedy Little. The album features the film’s original score composed by Germaine Franco (Tag, Dope, Vida). Also included are songs by Chloe x Halle, Lai Burger, Janelle Monáe feat. Pharrell Williams, Lekeli47, Mary J. Blige, H.E.R. & others. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, April 12 and will be available to download here. Little is directed by Tina Gordon (Peeples) and stars Regina Hall, Issa Rae and Marsai Martin. Tamar-kali (Mudbound, Come Sunday) has signed on to score the upcoming psychological drama Shirley. The film is directed by Josephine Decker (Madeline’s Madeline) and stars Elisabeth Moss, Michael Stuhlbarg, Logan Lerman and Odessa Young. The movie tells the story of a young couple that moves in with famed horror author Shirley Jackson and her husband in the hopes of starting a new life and find themselves fodder for a psycho-drama that inspires Jackson’s next major novel. ‘Vernon Subutex’ Soundtrack Album Released

Parlaphone France has released a soundtrack album for the French TV series Vernon Subutex. The album features a selection of songs from the show by artists such as The Modern Lovers, Wreckless Eric, Spacemen 3, Les Thugs, Wall of Voodoo, Mudhoney, Karen Dalton, Sonic Youth, Janis Joplin, New Order, Ramones & others. The soundtrack is now available in French music stores (visit the French iTunes store to listen to audio samples). No word yet on a domestic release. Vernon Subutex is directed by Cathy Verney and stars Romain Duris, Céline Sallette, Laurent Lucas, Philippe Rebbot, Florence Thomassin and Athaya Mokonzi. Alexandre Desplat revealed at a masterclass at the Festival Rendez-vous 2019 in Rome last week that he is set to score the upcoming drama Little Women. The film is written and directed by Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) and stars Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Meryl Streep, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern, Bob Odenkirk and Chris Cooper. The movie is based on the 1868 novel of the same name by Louisa May Alcott and tells the story of the March sisters as they come of age in America in the aftermath of the Civil War. Premiering on Tuesday, April 9 before moving to its regular Monday night timeslot the following week is the new CBS drama The Code created by Craig Sweeny & Craig Turk and starring Luke Mitchell, Anna Wood, Dana Delany, Ato Essandoh, Phillipa Soo and Raffi Barsoumian. Premiering on Wednesday, April 10, is the the horror thriller The Silence directed by John R. Leonetti and starring Stanley Tucci, Miranda Otto, Kiernan Shipka and John Corbett. The composer duo of tomandandy (47 Meters DownThe StrangersThe Mothman Prophecies) has composed the film’s original music. Wendy & Lisa (aka Wendy Melvoin & Lisa Coleman) (Heroes, Nurse Jackie, Dangerous Minds) have composed the original score for the upcoming Netflix original movie Wine Country. The film marks the feature directorial debut of actress Amy Poehler who also stars in the movie alongside Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer, Rachel Dratch, Paula Pell, Emily Spivey and Tina Fey.. The comedy revolves around a group of longtime girlfriends who go to Napa for the weekend to celebrate their friend’s 50th birthday, when tensions from the past boil over. Blackstrobe Records has released a soundtrack album for the French period drama Curiosa. The album features the film’s original music composed by Arnaud Rebotini (BPM (Beats Per Minute), Eastern Boys, The Wind Turns). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. Curiosa is co-written and directed by Lou Jeunet and stars Noémie Merlant, Niels Schneider, Benjamin Lavernhe, Camélia Jordana, Amira Casar and Scali Delpeyrat. Adam Samuel Goldman is scoring the new CBS drama The Code. The show is created by Craig Sweeny (Elementary) & Craig Turk (FBI, The Good Wife) and stars Luke Mitchell, Anna Wood, Ato Essandoh, Phillipa Soo, Dana Delany and Raffi Barsoumian. The series follows a group of prosecutors, defense lawyers, and investigators who tackle the toughest legal challenges facing the U.S. Marine Corps. Sweeny & Turk are also executive producing the CBS Television Studios production with Carl Beverly & Sarah Timberman (SEAL Team, Master of Sex), Christine Moore, as well as Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man, (500) Days of Summer) who also directed the pilot episode.  Read the rest of this entry »

Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the superhero movie Shazam! directed by David F. Sandberg and starring Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Asher Angel, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Faithe Herman, Cooper Andrews and Marta Milans. The film’s original music is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (ItBlade Runner 2049Hidden Figures). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the horror thriller Pet Sematary directed by Kevin Kölsch & Dennis Widmyer and starring Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, John Lithgow. Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3HellraiserThe Exorcism of Emily RoseDrag Me to HellGhost Rider) has composed the film’s original music. Paramount Music has released soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as Starcrawler’s cover of the Ramones’ title song, which plays over the movie’s end credits. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for the Pixar animated short Kitbull. The album features the film’s original music composed by Andrew Jimenez. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Kitbull is directed by Rosana Sullivan, produced by Kathryn Hendrickson and centers on a fiercely independent stray kitten and an abused pit bull who form an unlikely friendship. The short, which is the third title in Pixar’s SparkShorts program opened at Disney’s El Capitan Theater in January and is now available to stream on YouTube.
