Craig Wedren is reteaming with director David Wain on the upcoming Netflix original movie A Futile & Stupid Gesture. The film stars Will Forte as National Lampoon co-founder Douglas Kenney, alongside Domhnall Gleeson, Joel McHale, Emmy Rossum, Matt Walsh, Martin Mull, Thomas Lennon, Matt Lucas, Seth Green, Jackie Tohn, Natasha Lyonne, Elvy Yost, John Gemberling, Rick Glassman, Camille Guaty and Jon Daly. The biopic is based on Josh Karp’s 2006 book of the same title and centers on the life and career of Kenney. Michael Colton and John Aboud (Penguins of Madagascar, The Comebacks) wrote the screenplay. Christophe Beck’s ‘Lou’ Soundtrack to Be Released

Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack for the new Pixar Animation Studios short Lou. The release features the film’s original music composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Paperman, The Peanuts Movie, Trolls, Ant-Man, Edge of Tomorrow, The Hangover). The soundtrack will be released as a digital single tomorrow, June 16 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Lou marks the directorial debut of animator Dave Mullins (Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles) who also wrote the screenplay and revolves around a red hooded monster named Lou, who lives in the “Lost & Found” box, and tries to stop a bully named J.J. from destroying his classmates’ beloved toys. Junkie XL aka Tom Holkenborg is set to score the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot. The film is directed by Roar Uthaug (The Wave) and stars Alicia Vikander in the title role, alongside Dominic West, Daniel Wu, Hannah John-Kamen and Walton Goggins. The movie based on the video game franchise follows Lara Croft as she must push herself beyond her limits when she finds herself on the island where her father disappeared. Danny Elfman has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming superhero movie Justice League. Junkie XL aka Tom Holkenborg who co-scored Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for the DC movie universe was originally scoring the film before director Zack Snyder left the project. Joss Whedon is overseeing additional photography is beginning this week in London. Elfman has previously collaborated with Whedon on Avengers: Age of Ultron. Justice League starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher and Jason Momoa will be released in theaters nationwide on November 17 by Warner Bros. Pictures. Armory Films announced today that T Bone Burnett will be producing the soundtrack for the upcoming drama The Peanut Butter Falcon. The film is written and directed by Tyler Nilson & Michael Schwartz (The Moped Diaries) and stars Shia LaBeouf, Dakota Johnson, Zachary Gottsagen and Bruce Dern. The movie follows a down on his luck crab fisherman as he embarks on a journey to get a young man with Down syndrome to a professional wresting school in rural North Carolina and away from the retirement home where he’s lived most of his life. ‘Dodgeball’ Reunion Charity Video Features Music by Theodore Shapiro

Theodore Shapiro has composed the original music for a charity video, which features Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Justin Long and Christine Taylor reprising their roles from the 2004 comedy hit Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, which the composer also scored. The short, which co-stars Missi Pyle, Jamal Duff and Brandon Molale is directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (We’re the Millers, Central Intelligence) who helmed the original feature and promotes a charity dodgeball event. Donations benefit The Stiller Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports children around the world by providing educational opportunities to help them realize their full potential.
