Madison Gate Records will release a new soundtrack album for the YouTube Premium series Cobra Kai. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Leo Birenberg (Son of Zorn, Red Army, Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny) & Zach Robinson (F*&% the Prom). Also included is Kari Kimmel’s cover of Bananarama’s Cruel Summer as featured in the Season 2 teaser trailer. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 24 and will be available to download here. The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score for the first season (with La-La Land Records handling the CD version). Cobra Kai is developed by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg and stars Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Xolo Mariduena, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser and Courtney Henggeler. Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1994 family adventure Iron Will directed by Charles Haid and starring Mackenzie Astin, Kevin Spacey, David Ogden Stiers, George Gerdes, Brian Cox, Penelope Windust and August Schellenberg. The album features the expanded original score from the Walt Disney Pictures production composed and conducted by Joel McNeely (A Million Ways to Die in the West, The Orville, Holes, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles), including almost 40 minutes of previously unreleased music. 4AD has released a soundtrack album for Boots Riley’s comedy Sorry to Bother You. The album features the film’s original score composed by Tune-Yards. Premiering tomorrow, April 22, is the HBO and BBC series Gentleman Jack created by Sally Wainwright and starring Suranne Jones, Sophie Rundle, Gemma Whelan, Timothy West, Jeremy Lister and Gemma Jones. The show’s original music is composed by Murray Gold (Doctor Who, Torchwood, Death at a Funeral, A Very English Scandal). This past week, Gregoire Hetzel (Incendies, Summertime, The Midwife) has recorded his music for the upcoming French thriller Oh Mercy! (Roubaix, une lumière). The film is written and directed by Arnaud Desplechin (Esther Khan, Jimmy P.) and stars Roschdy Zem, Antoine Reinartz, Léa Seydoux and Sara Forestier. Milan Records has released the second soundtrack album for the National Geographic docu-series Hostile Planet. The album features more music from the show composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Shazam!, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Hellboy). The Vol. 2 album, entitled Jungles and Grasslands, is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The first album (Mountains and Oceans) was released earlier this month and a third album (Deserts and Polar) will be coming out next month. Hostile Planet hosted by Bear Grylls and executive produced by Guillermo Navarro looks at animals surviving at the extremes of different environments, in mountains, oceans, grasslands, jungles, deserts, and polar regions.
