Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, Terminatory Genisys, Home, Pacific Rim Uprising) has composed the original music for the upcoming drama Georgetown. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Academy Award-winning actor Christoph Waltz who also stars in the movie alongside Annette Bening, Vanessa Redgrave and Corey Hawkins. The movie is based on the New York Times Magazine article by Franklin Foer and follows an ambitious social climber who marries a wealthy widow in Washington D.C. in order to mix with powerful political players. BMG has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Echo in the Canyon. The album features music from and inspired by the film, including songs by The Byrds, The Mamas & The Papas and more, as interpreted by artists from the film including Fiona Apple, Beck, Cat Power, Eric Clapton, Norah Jones, Regina Spektor, Stephen Stills, Neil Young, as well as a special performance of the Monkees’ She with Josh Homme. A first track, Jakob Dylan & Jade Castrinos’ cover of Go Where You Wanna Go, is already available to download here.
