Philippe Brault (The Origin of Evil, Norbourg, Shepherds, Maria Chapdelaine) has composed the original score for the upcoming Canadian crime thriller In Cold Light. The film is marks the English language feature debut of director Maxime Giroux (Felix and Meira, The Great Darkened Days) and stars Maika Monroe, Troy Kotsur, Helen Hunt and Allan Hawco. The movie follows a woman fresh out of prison who witnesses the brutal murder of her brother and – pursued by the killers and by her own demons – must fight to stay alive and figure out who set her up. Intrada Records has announced the release of the label’s new Kickstarter-funded recordings of three scores for 1960s/70s television movies composed by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Mummy, Chinatown, Alien, Patton, Planet of the Apes, Basic Instinct). Titles include 1972’s drama Pursuit directed by Michael Crichton and starring Ben Gazzara, Martin Sheen & E.G. Marshall, 1970’s horror thiller Crawlspace directed by John Newland & Buzz Kulik and starring Tom Happer, Arthur Kennedy & Teresa Wright and 1968’s The People Next Door (directed by David Greene), the opening installment of the second season of CBS Playhouse. Back Lot Music has released the first track from the soundtrack for the live-action adaptation of DreamWorks Animation’s classic How to Train Your Dragon. Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1993 action adventure The Three Musketeers directed by Stephen Herek and starring Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, Chris O’Donnell, Tim Curry, Oliver Platt and Rebecca De Morna. The album features the complete and remastered original score from the Walt Disney Pictures & Caravan Pictures production composed and conducted by Academy Award nominee Michael Kamen (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, X-Men, The Iron Giant, License to Kill, Mr. Holland’s Opus), including almost an hour of previously unreleased music, as well as a couple few alternate and source cues and the content of Hollywood Records’ original 1993 soundtrack album (which includes the original song All for Love co-written by Kamen and performed by Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart & Sting). Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into/Across the Spider-Verse, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Enola Holmes, Steve Jobs, Birds of Prey) and Adem Ilhan ((Avenue 5, In the Loop, The Ballad of Wallis Island, The Beautiful Game) have teamed up to score the new HBO original documentary series The Mortician. The show is directed by Joshua Rofé (Sasquatch, Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed) and centers on the Lamb Funeral Home in Pasadena that hid behind a façade of decency and propriety to take advantage of loved ones at their most vulnerable moments in the early 1980s. The 3-parter features interviews with families of the funeral home’s victims, former employees, as well as David Sconce, scion of the Lamb family, newly released from prison, who tells his side of the story.
