Will Bates (Immaculate, The Magicians, Unbelievable, The Life List, Away, The Path, I Origins, Bliss, The Looming Tower) is the composer of the upcoming Prime Video limited series The Better Sister. The show is created by Olivia Milch (Ocean’s Eight) and Regina Corrado (Mayor of Kingstown, Russian Doll) based on the book by Alafair Burke and stars Jessica Biel, Elizabeth Banks, Corey Stoll, Kim Dickens, Matthew Modine, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Gloria Reuben,, Bobby Naderi, Gabriel Sloyer and Lorraine Toussaint. The 8-part crime thriller follows a high-profile media executive who is reunited with her estranged sister after her husband’s murder and – together – try to untangle a complicated family history to discover the truth behind his death. Milch, Corrado , Biel & Banks are also executive producing the Amazon MGM Studios & Tomorrow Studios production with Annie Marter (Transcendence), Marty Adelstein (Prison Break, Hanna), Becky Clements (One Piece, Cowboy Bebop), Alissa Bachner (Snowpiercer, Physical), Michelle Purple (The Sinner, Candy) and Kerry Orent (The Report, The Yards), as well as Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya, Cruella) who also directed the first episode. Bates has previously collaborated with Gillespie on the director’s last feature, Dumb Money. The Better Sister will premiere on May 29 exclusively on Prime Video.
Bates also continues to score AMC’s Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, which has recently been renewed for a third season.
