Polydor France has released a soundtrack album for Claude Lelouch’s drama The Best Years of a Life (Les plus belles années d’une vie). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Francis Lai (Love Story, Bolero) and French singer/songwriter Calogero. The project marks the final film scoring project of Lai who passed away last November. Also included is the original title song by Calogero & Nicole Croisille. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. The Best Years of a Life co-written and directed by Lelouch and stars Jean-Louis Trintignant and Anouk Aimee who reprise their roles from 1966’s A Man and a Woman (also scored by Lai). The drama follows title characters and their challenges of life inside the Royal Family during their pivotal first year of marriage. Songs from Olivia Wilde’s ‘Booksmart’ to Be Released

Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album featuring the songs from Olivia Wilde’s feature directorial debut Booksmart. Among the tracks included are What’s Golden by Jurassic 5, Slip Away by Perfume Genius, Can You Discover? by Discovery, Cold War by Cautious Clay, High on Your Love by Kings Go Forth, Boys by Lizzo and Carries On by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. The soundtrack is now available to order as a limited vinyl edition exclusively at Urban Outfitters. Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the live-action remake of Disney’s Aladdin directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen and Numan Acar. The film’s original score is composed by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as all songs from movie, including a new song written by Menken and featuring lyrics by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul. Edward Norton’s ‘Motherless Brooklyn’ to Feature Original Score by Daniel Pemberton & Original Song by Thom Yorke

Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) has recently scored the upcoming crime drama Motherless Brooklyn. Radiohead member Thom Yorke has contributed an original song for the drama written and directed by Edward Norton who also stars in the movie, alongside Bruce Willis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Bobby Cannavale, Cherry Jones, Michael Kenneth Williams, Leslie Mann, Ethan Suplee, Dallas Roberts, Josh Pais, Robert Ray Wisdom, Fisher Stevens, Alec Baldwin and Willem Dafoe. BMG has released a soundtrack album for Matteo Garrone’s drama Dogman. The album features the the film’s original music composed by Michele Braga (They Call Me Jeeg, It’s All About Karma), as well as songs by Bicep and Emmanuelle. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Dogman is co-written and directed by Garrone and stars Marcello Fonte, Edoardo Pesce, Nunzia Schiano, Adamo Dionisi, Francesco Acquaroli, Alida Baldari Calabria and Gianluca Gobbi. The movie is inspired by a murder committed by a dog groomer during the late 1980s in a gang-ridden area outside Rome.
