Composer Fernando Velázquez (A Monster CallsThe Impossible, Crimson PeakThe Orphanage, HerculesPride and Prejudice and ZombiesDevil) is reuniting with writer/director Oriol Paulo on the upcoming Spanish Netflix limited series The Last Night at Tremore Beach (La última noche en Tremor Beach). The show is created, co-written and directed by Paulo and stars Javier Rey, Ana Polvorosa, Willy Toledo and Pilar Castro. The 8-part psychological thriller is based on the best-selling novel of the same title by Mikel Santiago and follows a musician and composer in crisis who retreats into a coastal village in the north to finish his latest work, when he begins to experience some terrifying visions about his neighbors. La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1985 slasher sequel Friday the 13th Part V – A New Beginning directed by Danny Steinmann and starring Melanie Kinnaman, John Shepherd, Shavar Ross, Marco St. John and Richard Young. The album features the newly restored, remixed, remastered and expanded original score from the fifth installment in the Friday the 13th series composed by Harry Manfredini (Wishmaster, Swamp Thing, HouseDeepStar Six), including previously unreleased music. The CD will be available to order on the the label’s official website at noon today. Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings have announced a 25th anniversary edition the score album for the 1999 sci-fi classic The Matrix written and directed by the Wachowski siblings and starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving and Joe Pantoliano. The album features an expanded “18-song” track list curated by the film’s composer Don Davis (Jurassic Park 3The Matrix ReloadedThe Matrix Revolutions, Bound, Behind Enemy Lines) himself from key tracks previously only available on the complete edition of the score, as well as brand-new artwork by illustrator Yuko Shimizu. Tommy Reilly (Anna and the Apocalypse, Our Ladies, Dinosaur) is making his solo television scoring debut on the new BBC drama Nightsleeper. The show is created by Nick Leather (Murdered for Being Different, The Control Room) and stars Alexandra Roach, Joe Cole, Alex Ferns, James Cosmo, Sharon Small, David Threlfall, Lois Chimimba, Daniel Cahill, Gabriel Howell, Leah MacRae, Katie Leung, Scott Reid, Ruth Madeley, Pamela Nomvete, Adam Mitchell, Sharon Rooney and Parth Thakerar. The 6-part thriller follows an off-duty police officer who is a passenger on a train that gets ‘hackjacked’ while traveling from Glasgow to London and has to work together with the acting technical director at the National Cyber Security Centre to work out who is behind this.
