Belle and Sebastian have announced a soundtrack album for the indie comedy Days of the Bagnold Summer. The album features new music written for the movie by the Scottish band, as well as re-recorded versions of their classic songs Get Me Away From Here I’m Dying and I Know Where the Summer Goes. The soundtrack will be released on September 13, 2019 by Matador Records and is now available for pre-order here. Check out the music video of the first track (Sister Buddha) after the jump. Air-Edel Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for Sean Hanish’s drama Saint Judy starring Michelle Monaghan, Leem Lubany, Common, Alfred Molina, Alfre Woodard, Peter Krause, Ben Schnetzer & Gabriel Bateman, as well for the 2016 Lifetime movie Sister Cities starring Stana Katic, Jess Weixler, Michelle Trachtenberg, Troian Bellisario, Jacki Weaver & Alfred Molina. Both scores are composed by James T. Sale (Acts of Violence, The Haunting of Molly Hartley) and will be released digitally this coming Friday, July 5. Johan Söderqvist (Let the Right One In, Kon-Tiki, After the Wedding) is composing the music for the upcoming Danish drama Daniel (Ser du månen, Daniel). The film is directed by Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Flatliners, Dead Man Down) and stars Esben Smed in the title role, alongside Toby Kebbell, Anders W. Berthelsen (who also serves as a co-director), Sofie Torp, Christiane Gjellerup Koch, Jens Jorn Spottag and Andrea Gadegaard. The movie tells the true story of the ISIS kidnapping of Danish photographer Daniel Rye Ottosen, a freelance war photographer, who was captured by the Islamic terrorist group on May 18, 2013, and held prisoner for 13 months. Two new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:
Already playing in theaters since this past Wednesday is the horror sequel Annabelle Comes Home directed Gary Dauberman and starring McKenna Grace, Madison Iseman, Katie Sarife, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. The film’s original music is composed by Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Insidious, The Prodigy, Dark Skies). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Opening nationwide today is the musical comedy drama Yesterday directed by Danny Boyle and starring Himesh Patel, Lily James, Kate McKinnon and Ed Sheeran. Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, Ocean’s 8, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) has composed the film’s original score. Sony Classical will release a new soundtrack album for the BBC drama Poldark. The 3-CD set features selections of the original music from all five seasons of the series composed by Academy Award winner Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, The Crying Game, American History X, Elle, The Hustle).
