Warner Classics will release a soundtrack album for Roman Polanski’s drama An Officer and a Spy (J’accuse). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of Water, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) who previously scored the director’s last four features, The Ghost Writer, Carnage, Venus in Fur and Based on a True Story. Also included are two classical pieces by Gabriel Fauré. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 8 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon. Music.Film Recordings/Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the historical action drama Midway. The album features the film’s original music composed by Thomas Wander & Harald Kloser (2012, The Day After Tomorrow, Independence Day: Resurgence, White House Down). The Newton Brothers (The Haunting of Hill House, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Life of Crime, Oculus) have composed the original score for the action thriller Line of Duty. The film is directed by Steven C. Miller (Marauders, Silent Night) and stars Aaron Eckhart, Ben McKenzie, Giancarlo Esposito, Jessica Lu, Courtney Eaton and Dina Meyer. The movie follows a disgraced cop who finds himself in a race against time to find a kidnap victim whose abductor he accidentally killed. Jeremy Drysdale wrote the screenplay. Laurent Eyquem (Copperhead, Winnie Mandela, Nostalgia, USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage) is set to score the upcoming action drama Finding Jack. The film directed by Anton Ernst & Tati Golykh is based on Gareth Crocker’s novel of the same title about the existence and abandonment of more than 10,000 military dogs at the end of the Vietnam War. Academy Award nominee Diane Warren has composed an original song for the project. James Dean will (through CGI technology) posthumously star in the film. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for the ABC special The Little Mermaid Live!. The album features the songs from the musical special written by Alan Menken and with lyrics by Howard Ashman (for the animated Disney classic) and Glenn Slater (for the Broadway adaptation) and performed by cast members including Auli’i Cravalho as Ariel, Queen Latifah as Ursula, Shaggy as Sebastian, as well as John Stamos, Amber Riley and Graham Phillips. On December 4, 2019, Emmy Award-winning composer Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Monk, Pollock, Carnivale, Rome) will be conducting his score for the documentary The Biggest Little Farm at a live-to-picture concert at The Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, CA. The composer’s music will be performed by the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra while the film is playing on the big screen.
