Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s holiday special How To Train Your Dragon: Homecoming. The album features the music from the animated short composed by Anthony Willis (One Last Night, Knack II) who has previously contributed additional music to the last two How to Train Your Dragon features scored by John Powell. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 3 and will be available to stream/download here. How To Train Your Dragon: Homecoming is directed by Tim Johnson and features the voices of Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Soundfile Records has released a soundtrack album for the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie A Christmas Love Story. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Baiardi (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills/New York, Jersey Shore, Teen Mom). Also included are the Christmas songs from the movie. The soundtrack is now available to stream and download on Amazon Music. A Christmas Love Story is directed by Eric Close and stars Kristin Chenoweth, Scott Wolf, Keith Robinson and Kevin Quinn. Natalie Holt (Journey’s End, The Honourable Woman, Knightfall, Beecham House, Three Girls) has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original movie Fever Dream (Distancia de Regata). The film is directed by Claudia Llosa (The Milk Of Sorrow, Aloft) and stars María Valverde and Dolores Fonzi. The drama is based on the novel of the same title by Samanta Schweblin and tells a story of broken souls, toxins, looming environmental and spiritual catastrophes, and the ties that bind a parent to a child. The show’s original music is composed by Lyle Workman (Superbad, The 40-Year Old Virgin, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Overboard, Good Boys). Premiering on Thursday, December 5 is the Netflix original series V Wars created by William Laurin & Glenn Davis based on the comics by Jonathan Maberry & Alan Robinson and starring Ian Somerhalder, Adrian Holmes, Jacky Lai, Peter Outerbridge, Kyle Harrison Breitkopf and Kimberly-Sue Murray. The War of the Worlds is directed by Craig Viveiros, written by Peter Harness and stars Eleanor Tomlinson, Rafe Spall, Rupert Graves, Nicholas Le Prevost, Harry Melling, Jonathan Aris and Robert Carlyle. The album features the film’s original music composed by Kenji Kawai (Ghost in the Shell, Ip Man, Ring, Dark Water). Wings Over Everest is written and directed by Fei Yu and stars Zhang Jingchu, Koji Yakusho and Austin Po-Hung Lin. The movie tells the story of a rescue team that must go after a crashed plane in the Himalayas to recover important CIA documents that could prevent a terrorist incident. Two new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is the murder mystery Knives Out written and directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Katherine Langford and Christopher Plummer. The film’s original music is composed by Nathan Johnson (Brick, The Brothers Bloom, Don Jon, Looper). Cut Narrative has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening nationwide is the drama Queen & Slim directed by Melina Matsoukas, written by Lena Waithe and starring Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith. Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) (Palo Alto) has composed the film’s original score.
