Invada Records has released a soundtrack album for the British/Irish crime drama Calm With Horses. The album features the film’s original music composed by Blanck Mass (aka Benjamin John Power). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon Music, where you can also check out audio samples. Calm With Horses is directed by Nick Rowland and stars Cosmo Jarvis, Barry Keoghan, Niamh Algar, Ned Dennehy and David Wilmot. The movie is based on the novella by Colin Barrett and follows a former boxer who is offered a gig as an enforcer with the local drug mafia, but the demands weigh heavily as he makes inroads with his young son. Larry Goldings is the composer of the new Netflix original limited series Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker. The show is created by Nicole Jefferson Asher (Love Beats Rhymes) and stars Octavia Spencer, Tiffany Haddish, Carmen Ejogo, Blair Underwood, Garrett Morris, Kevin Carroll and Bill Bellamy. The drama is inspired by the book On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C. J. Walker by Walker’s great-great-granddaughter A’Lelia Bundles and tells the true story of an African American washerwoman who rises from poverty to build a beauty empire and become the first female self-made millionaire. Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the faith-based drama I Still Believe directed by Jon & Andrew Erwin and also stars KJ Apa, Britt Robertson, Shania Twain and Gary Sinise. The film’s original score is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the ChristThe Jungle BookElfIron Man 2Hocus Pocus). Capitol Records has released a soundtrack album featuring five tracks from the composer’s score, as well as the Jeremy Camp songs from the movie performed by Apa, as well as other tracks by Apa. Also opening wide is the thriller The Hunt directed by Craig Zobel and starring Betty Gilpin, Ike Barinholtz, Emma Roberts, Hilary Swank, Glenn Howerton, Amy Madigan and Ethan Suplee. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the drama Lost Transmissions. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hugo Nicolson. Also included is the song Goodnight Not Goodbye performed by IO Echo. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Lost Transmissions is written and directed by Katharine O’Brien and stars Simon Pegg, Juno Temple, Jamie Harris, Rebecca Hazlewood, Tao Okamoto, Bria Vinaite and Alexandra Daddario. The movie follows an acclaimed music producer whose friends chase him though the LA music scene to help commit him to a psychiatric hospital when he goes off his medication for schizophrenia. The original end credits song Staring at a Mountain from Eliza Hittman’s drama Never Rarely Sometimes Always has been released. The track is written and performed by Sharon Van Etten (who also appears in the movie) and produced by the singer/songwriter and Adam Gunther. The song is now available to stream/download on Amazon. Walt Disney Records has released the first full soundtrack album for the final season of Lucasfilm’s animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first four episodes from Season 7 composed by Kevin Kiner (Star Wars RebelsNarcos: MexicoDoom PatrolCSI: Miami, Titans, Making a Murderer).  The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon Music, where you can also listen to audio samples. The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring selections of Kiner’s score from the first six seasons, as well as his Bad Batch Theme from the current season.
