Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the indie drama Never Rarely Sometimes Always. The album features the film’s original music composed by singer/songwriter Julia Holter (Bleed for This, Pure). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 13 and will be available to stream/download here. Never Rarely Sometimes Always is written and directed by Eliza Hittman (Beach Rats) and stars Sidney Flanigan, Talia Ryder, Théodore Pellerin, Ryan Eggold and Sharon Van Etten. The movie centers on two teenage girls in rural Pennsylvania who travel to New York City to seek out medical help after an unintended pregnancy. Video Game creative director Neil Druckmann announced on Twitter that Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, 21 Grams, The Motorcycle Diaries, The Book of Life) is attached to compose the music for the upcoming HBO original series The Last of Us. The show based the PlayStation video game of the same title developed by Naughty Dog, which takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed and follows a hardened survivor who is hired to smuggle a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. Craig Mazin (Chernobyl, The Hangover Part II & III) is writing the TV show and will also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Druckmann, Carolyn Strauss (Game of Thrones, Treme) and Naughty Dog president of game development Evan Wells. Michael Giacchino has signed on to score the upcoming sci-fi action adventure Jurassic World: Dominion.
