The film is directed by Marc Meyers (My Friend Dahmer, Human Capital) and stars Jessica Rothe, Harry Shum Jr., Michael Masini, Chrissie Fit, Greg Vrotsos, Jay Pharoah, Marielle Scott, Kyle Allen, Mario Cantone, Keala Settle, Ever Carradine, Josh Brener and Jon Rudnitsky. The movie tells the true story of Solomon Chau and Jennifer Carter, a young couple planning their wedding when they receive the news that Chau has liver cancer. Stephen Rennicks has composed the original score for the new BBC/Hulu limited series Normal People. The show is based on Sally Rooney’s New York Times best-selling novel of the same title and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal. The drama centers on the complicated relationship of Marianne and Connell from the end of their school days in a small town in the west of Ireland to their undergraduate years at Trinity College. Rooney is also executive producing the Element Pictures production with Alice Birch (Lady Macbeth), Mark O’Rowe (Boy A), Ed Guiney (The Favourite, The Lobster), Andrew Lowe (Shadow Dancer, Ripper Street), Emma Norton (Rosie), Anna Ferguson (A Discovery of Witches), as well as Lenny Abrahamson who also directed the first six episodes. The album features the film’s original music composed by David Turpin with Stephen Shannon and Kevin Murphy.
