Alex Weston (The Farewell, Wander Darkly, The Novice) has released a soundtrack album for the coming-of-age thriller What Breaks the Ice. The album features the composer’s original score from the movie and is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music stores. What Breaks the Ice is written and directed by Rebecca Eskreis and stars Sofia Hublitz, Madelyn Cline, Lukas Gage, Joel Allen, Erik Jensen, Shakira Barrera, Catherine Curtin and Aimee Mullins. The movie revolves around two girls, from different worlds, who form a deep and unlikely friendship in the sweltering summer heat of 1998, when their fun and carefree days quickly turn cold as they find themselves at the center of a mysterious murder.

Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for the Disney+ animated special LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales. The album features the original music from the Halloween special composed by Michael Kramer (He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, Rhyme Time Town, Valley of Bones). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, October 1 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Jeff Cardoni Scoring HBO Max’s ‘Ten Year Old Tom’
Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, Heels, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Turner & Hooch, The Kominsky Method) is the composer of the new HBO Max adult animated series Ten Year Old Tom. The show is created and written by Steve Dildarian (The Life & Times of Tim) who also lends his voice to the title character. Also starring are Byron Bowers, Todd Glass, Gillian Jacobs, Edi Patterson and John Malkovich, as well as David Duchovny, Jennifer Coolidge, Natasha Lyonne, Tim Robinson, Mark Proksch & George Wallace who are making guest appearances. The animated comedy follows the misadventures of an average kid as he contends with questionable guidance from the well-meaning grownups around him.

Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ original series The Morning Show. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Academy Award nominee Carter Burwell (Carol, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Fargo, Twilight, True Grit, In Bruges). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 1 and will be available to stream/download here. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score from Season 1 in 2019. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Chris Westlake (Solar Opposites, Castle Rock, Before We Go, Small Town Crimes, Transit). The Vol. 1 soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, October 8 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon and Apple Music/iTunes. Star Trek: Lower Decks is developed by Mike McMahan and features the voice talent of Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells, Dawnn Lewis, Eugene Cordero, Jerry O’Connell, Fred Tatasciore and Gillian Vigman. The animated comedy centers on the support crew serving on the U.S.S. Cerritos, one of Starfleet’s least important ships, in 2380.

The details of the eighth soundtrack album for Marvel Studios’ Disney+ animated series What If…? have been revealed. The album features the original music from the eighth episode (What If… Ultron Won?) of the show composed by Emmy Award winner Laura Karpman (Lovecraft Country, Set It Up, Paris Can Wait, Black Nativity, Step, Underground, Why We Hate). Mychael Danna, Shigeru Umebyashi & Gabriel Yared ‘Music in Film’ Series Albums Announced
Film Fest Ghent has announced the expanded editions of three of its earlier albums, featuring music by Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Capote), Shigeru Umebayashi (In the Mood for Love, House of Flying Daggers, A Single Man) and Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain) respectively, reissuing them in the Music for Film album series. The three albums have been updated with newly recorded music in collaboration with the composers, and will be released during the 48th edition of Film Fest Ghent, which will take place from October 12-23. All music is performed by Brussels Philharmonic and Vlaams Radiokoor and conducted by Film Fest Ghent music director Dirk Brossé.
Emily Bear Scoring ‘The Premise’ Episode ‘The Commenter’
Composer, pianist and singer/songwriter Emily Bear (The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical) has written the original score for the fourth episode of the FX on Hulu anthology series The Premise. The Commenter is written Jia Tolentino & series creator B.J. Novak, directed by Darya Zhuk and stars Lola Kirke, Soko, Sylvia Grace Crim and Benjamin Clement. The episode follows a young woman with a happy life and loving partner who becomes obsessed with a critical anonymous comment online, eventually upending her life in a quest for the commenter’s approval.
