American High Records has released a soundtrack album for the comedy Banana Split. The album features the film’s original score composed by Annie Hart (Olympic Dreams). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Banana Split is directed by Benjamin Kasulke and stars Hannah Marks (who also co-wrote the screenplay), Liana Liberato, Dylan Sprouse and Addison Riecke. Quartet Records has announced the world premiere recording of the previously unreleased score for the 1972 horror mystery drama Endless Night directed by Sidney Gilliat, based on Agatha Christie’s novel of the same title and starring Hayley Mills, Britt Ekland, Hywel Bennett, Per Oscarsson and George Sanders. Reconstructed from the original manuscript by the film’s composer Bernard Herrmann (PsychoVertigoTaxi Driver, Cape Fear, North by Northwest), the music is performed by the Basque National Orchestra and conducted by Fernando Velázquez (The ImpossibleMamaA Monster Calls), with original Moog synthesizer sessions played by Toni Saigi. Visit the label’s official website for the full album details, to check out audio samples and to order the CD. Quartet Records has announced a number of new soundtracks, including a new album for the 1969 drama Midnight Cowboy directed by John Schlesinger and starring Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman. John Barry (Goldfinger, Dances with Wolves, Out of Africa) who is credited as the film’s music supervisor composed a series of original cues and supervised the entire musical concept of the project. Everybody’s Talkin’ written by Fred Neil was selected as a main theme for the movie and was newly recorded with arrangements by George Tipton and performed by Harry Nilsson. The 2-CD set features a remastered version of the original soundtrack album, as well as alternate song versions on the first disc and the complete music (both songs and score) as it appears in the film on the second disc. Stefan Gregory has made his feature scoring debut on the the upcoming British Netflix original film The Dig. The movie is directed by Simon Stone (The Daughter) and stars Carey Mulligan, Ralph Fiennes, Lily James, Johnny Flynn, Ben Chaplin and Ken Stott. The drama is set in 1938 as World War II looms and follows a wealthy widow who hires an amateur archaeologist to excavate the burial mounds on her estate. ABKCO Records will release the official soundtrack album for the drama One Night in Miami… The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee Terence Blanchard (BlacKkKlansman, Malcolm X, Perry Mason, Inside Man, 25th Hour, Da 5 Bloods). Also included is the original song Speak Now performed by Leslie Odom, Jr. and co-written by himself & Sam Ashworth, as well as other songs performed by the actor/singer and tracks by L.C. The film is directed by Robert Lorenz (Trouble with the Curve) and stars Liam Neeson, Katheryn Winnick, Juan Pablo Raba and Teresa Ruiz. The movie follows a hardened Arizona rancher who becomes the unlikely defender of a young Mexican boy desperately fleeing the cartel assassins who have pursued him into the U.S. Lorenz also co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Charles & Danny Kravitz.
