Kurt Farquhar (Black Lightning, The King of Queens, Moesha, Sister, Sister, Being Mary Jane) has composed the original score for the new Lifetime original film Wendy Williams: The Movie. The biographical drama is directed by Darren Grant (Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Make It Happen) and stars Ciera Payton in the title role, alongside Morocco Omari  as Wendy’s ex-husband Kevin Hunter. Bobby Krlic (aka The Haxan Cloak) (Midsommar, The Alienist: Angel of Darkness, Seven Seconds, Triple 9) has been tapped to score the second season of the TNT original series Snowpiercer. The new season stars Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard, Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand and Steven Ogg. Graeme Manson (Orphan Black) serves as the project’s showrunner and is executive producing the Tomorrow Studios production with Marty Adelstein & Becky Clements (Hanna), Matthew O’Connor (Continuum), Ben Rosenblatt, Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange, Sinister), and the original 2013 film’s producers, including Bong Joon Ho (Parasite), Miky Lee, Tae-sung Jeong, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and  Dooho Choi. Michael Abels (Get Out, Us, Bad Education, See You Yesterday, All Day and a Night) has recently scored the new HBO documentary Fake Famous. The film is directed by Nick Bilton and explores the meaning of fame and influence in the digital age through an innovative social experiment. The movie follows three LA-based people with relatively small followings and the attempts made to turn them into famous influencers by purchasing fake followers and bots to “engage” with their social media accounts. Bilton (The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley) is also producing the Consolidated Documentaries production with Annabelle Dunne & Mary Recine (Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold). The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Jon Opstad (Black Mirror, We Hunt Together, Silent WitnessSafe House). Premiering on Wednesday, January 28, is the Australian drama Penguin Bloom directed by Glendyn Ivin and starring Naomi Watts, Andrew Lincoln, Jacki Weaver, Griffin Murray-Johnston, Rachel House, Leeanna Walsman, Lisa Hensley, Felix Cameron and Abe Clifford-Barr. The film’s original music is composed by Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, The Affair, Enough Said, The Good Shepherd, Ray Donovan, The Door in the Floor). The album features the film’s original music composed by Enis Rotthoff (Guns Akimbo, The Sunlit Night, Wetlands) who recorded his score with the Budapest Art Orchestra. Also included is the original song For the Love of You written and performed by British R&B/jazz singer Tony Momrelle & his writing partner/pianist Emiliano Pari (featuring a string arrangement by Rotthoff).
