Opening in theaters nationwide this week is the sports comedy Space Jam: A New Legacy directed by Malcolm D. Lee and starring LeBron James, Don Cheadle, Sonequa Martin-Green, Khris Davis, Cedric Joe, Eric Bauza, Jeff Bergman and Zendaya. The film’s original score is composed by Kris Bowers (Green Book, Bridgerton, When They See Us, Mrs. America, Dear White People). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today (click here for the full album details). Republic Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie last week (click here for more information). The comedy is now also available to stream on HBO Max.

Also opening wide is the thriller sequel Escape Room: Tournament of Champions directed by Adam Robitel and starring Taylor Russell, Logan Miller, Indya Moore, Holland Roden, Thomas Cocquerel and Carlito Olivero. Brian Tyler (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Fast & Furious, Iron Man 3, Crazy Rich Asians, Yellowstone, Thor: The Dark World) & John Carey. have composed the film’s original music. Ré Olunuga to Score Disney+’s ‘Greek Freak’

Nigerian composer Ré Olunuga (Up North, Coming from Insanity) has signed on to score the upcoming Disney+ original film Greek Freak. The movie is directed by Akin Omotoso (Vaya) and stars Uche Agada, Yetide Badaki and Dayo Okeniyi. The drama is inspired by the true story of NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo’s life and his family who through faith, determination, and their unbreakable bond, would unite to lift themselves out of a life of poverty as undocumented immigrants living in Greece. Arash Amel (A Private War, The Titan) wrote the screenplay and Bernie Goldmann (300, Fool’s Gold) is producing the project. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Pig’ Soundtrack Album Released

Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the dramatic thriller Pig. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alexis Grapsas (Monday, Trigonemetry, Big Shot, Teacher) and Philip Klein (The Last Full Measure, Wish Dragon). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out audio samples. Pig is written and directed by Michael Sarnoski and stars Nicolas Cage and Alex Wolff. The movie centers on a truffle hunter who lives alone in the Oregonian wilderness and must return to his past in Portland in search of his beloved pig after she is kidnapped. Columbia Records has released the original song Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache from the romantic drama The Last Letter from Your Lover. The track is written and performed HAIM and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Listen to the full song below. The Last Letter from Your Lover is directed by Augustine Frizzell and stars Shailene Woodley, Felicity Jones, Callum Turner, Joe Alwyn, Nabhaan Rizwan, Ncuti Gatwa and Emma Appleton. Soundtrack Album for NBC’s ‘Good Girls’ to Be Released

Lakeshore Records will release the first-ever soundtrack album for the NBC comedy drama Good Girls. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third and fourth season composed by Drum & Lace (Dickinson, The First Monday in May, Deadly Illusions) and Ian Hultquist (Assassination Nation, Animals A-X-L). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, July 23 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon and Apple Music/iTunes. Good Girls is created by Jenna Bans and stars Christina Hendricks, Retta, Mae Whitman, Reno Wilson, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Isaiah Stannard and Matthew Lillard. ‘The Green Knight’ Soundtrack Album Details

Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for David Lowery’s fantasy adventure The Green Knight. The album features the film’s original music composed by Daniel Hart (Pete’s Dragon, A Ghost Story, The Old Man and the Gun, Strange Angel, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints).  The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 30, 2021 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A first track (One Year Hence) is already available to stream/download now. Listen to the full track after the jump. The Green Knight is written and directed by Lowery and stars Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sean Harris, Sarita Choudhury, Kate Dickie, Barry Keoghan and Ralph Ineson. The album features the original songs from the show’s first season composed by Christopher Dimond and Michael Kooman, including the main title theme (co-written with series creator Chris Nee) performed by Lauren Patten. George Kallis (Cliffs of Freedom, The Black Prince, The Last Warrior, 93 Days) has composed the original score for the upcoming romantic drama After We Fell, the third installment in the After series. The film is directed by Castille Landon and stars Josephine Langford, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Kiana Madeira and Stephen Moyer. The movie is based on Anna Todd’s novel of the same title and follows Tessa as she discovers revelations about her family, and then Hardin’s, that throw everything they knew before in doubt and makes their hard-won future together more difficult to claim. ‘Schmigadoon!’ Episodes 1 & 2 Soundtrack Details

Milan Records will release the official soundtracks for the new Apple TV+ original series Schmigadoon! The show’s original songs are written by Cinco Paul who also co-created by the musical comedy. Christopher Willis (The Death of Stalin, Veep, The Personal History of David Copperfield, Mickey Mouse) has composed the original score. The first two soundtracks featuring the songs and score from Episodes 1 & 2 will be coming out digitally tomorrow, July 16 and music from the other episodes will be released over the coming weeks. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Watchmen, Soul, Gone Girl, Mank, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Leopold Ross (The Book of Eli, Dispatches from Everywhere, Death Note) & Nick Chuba (Operation Varsity Blues). Dr. Death is developed by Patrick Macmanus based on Wondery’s hit podcast and stars Joshua Jackson, AnnaSophia Robb, Grace Gummer, Christian Slater and Alec Baldwin. The drama is inspired by the true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a rising star in the Dallas medical community who was building a flourishing neurosurgery practice when everything changed when patients entered his operating room for complex but routine spinal surgeries and left permanently maimed or dead.
