WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack EP for the Teen Titans Go! mini-series The Night Begins to Shine. The EP features five songs from the 4-part event, including a remix of the title track by B.E.R. (aka Carl Burnett, Franklin Enea, & William J. Reagan), as well as new versions by CeeLo Green and the Japanese rock group Puffy Amiyumi. The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 28, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The Night Begins to Shine is based on the Teen Titans Go! episode 40%, 40%, 20% and features guest appearances by CeeLo Green and Fall Out Boy.

Adrian Johnston Scoring BBC’s ‘The Child in Time’
Adrian Johnston is scoring the upcoming BBC drama The Child in Time. The movie is directed by Julian Farino (The Oranges) and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Kelly Macdonald, Stephen Campbell Moore and Saskia Reeves. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Ian McEwan (Atonement) and centers around children’s author Stephen Lewis who struggles to find purpose in life following the disappearance of his daughter two years earlier. Stephen Butchard (The Last Kingdom) wrote the script is also executive producing the Pinewood Television and SunnyMarch TV production with Cumberbatch, Helen Gregory, Lucy Richer, Rebecca Eaton, David Boulter and Adam Ackland.
‘Greenleaf’ Volume 2 Soundtrack Announced
RCA Inspiration will release a new soundtrack album for the OWN original series Greenleaf. The album features the songs from the show’s second season performed by artists including Kayce Grogan-Wallace, Jekalyn Carr, Roshon Fegan, Mavis Staples & more. The Volume 2 soundtrack will be released on August 8, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Malaco Records has previously released the Volume 1 soundtrack. Greenleaf is created by Craig Wright and stars Keith David, Merle Dandridge, Lynn Whitfield, Kim Hawthorne, Gregory Alan Williams, Lamman Rucker, Tye White and Deborah Joy Winans.
Adam Cohen & John Robert Wood to Return for ‘Psych: The Movie’
Adam Cohen and John Robert Wood are composing the music for the upcoming Psych: The Movie. The movie continues to the story of the USA hit show, which the composers scored from 2006 to 2014, and stars James Roday, Dule Hill, Corbin Bernsen, Kirsten Nelson, Maggie Lawson, Kurt Fuller who reprise their characters from the series. They are joined by Zachary Levi who will portray villain Thin White Duke, as well as Jazmyn Simon, Ralph Macchio and Charlotte Flair. The show’s creator Steve Franks is co-writing and directing the movie and also serves as an executive producer alongside Roday, Hill, Chris Henze and Kelly Kulchak.
‘Gypsy’ Soundtrack Announced
Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Gypsy. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Monk, Pollock, Rome, Appaloosa, An Inconvenient Sequel). The soundtrack will be released digitally soon (check back on this page for the download link) and is now available to order as a limited edition 2-CD set on the label’s official website. Gypsy is created by Lisa Rubin and stars Naomi Watts, Billy Crudup, Sophie Cookson, Lucy Boynton and Karl Glusman. The show follows a Manhattan therapist with a seemingly picturesque life who begins to develop intimate and illicit relationships with the people in her patients’ lives.

Premiering tomorrow, July 24, is the NBC drama Midnight, Texas developed by Monica Owusu-Breen based on the book series by Charlaine Harris and starring François Arnaud, Sarah Ramos, Arielle Kebbel, Peter Mensah, Parisa Fitz-Henley and Dylan Bruce. The show’s original music is composed by Jacob Groth (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Dead Man Down, Unforgettable). Also premiering tomorrow is the ABC drama Somewhere Between created by Stephen Tolkin (Taxi Brooklyn, Brothers & Sisters) and starring Paula Patton, Devon Sawa and J.R. Bourn. James Jandrisch (Houdini & Doyle, Reasonable Doubt) is composing the show’s original music. The series is based on a Korean format and revolves around a mother who travels back in time to prevent the murder of her daughter. A.R. Rahman Scoring Netflix’s ‘Daughters of Destiny’
Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, Couples Retreat, The Hundred Foot Journey) has composed the music for the new Netflix docu-series Daughters of Destiny. The show is directed by Vanessa Roth who received an Academy Award for her documentary short Freeheld in 2008 and follows five girls from India’s most impoverished families attend a boarding school designed to create opportunities as they strive for a brighter future. Roth is also executive producing the 4-parter.
Jeff Russo to Score ‘Star Trek: Discovery’
Jeff Russo has been hired to score the upcoming sci-fi drama Star Trek: Discovery. The show is set a decade before the events of the original Star Trek series and follows the crew of the USS Discovery during the Federation-Klingon cold war.The series stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs, Doug Jones, James Frain, Michelle Yeoh and Anthony Rapp. Alex Kurtzman (The Mummy, Now You See Me) and Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, Pushing Daisies) are executive producing the CBS Television production with Heather Kadin (Scorpion, Sleepy Hollow), Gretchen J. Berg & Aaron Harberts (Revenge, Reign), Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, I Am Legend), Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth.
‘Nashville’ Season 5 – Vol. 3 Soundtrack Details
Big Machine Records will release a new soundtrack album for the CMT original series Nashville. The album features more songs from the show’s fifth season performed by cast members including Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Chris Carmack and Lennon & Maisy, as well as Rhiannon Giddens. The Season 5 – Volume 3 soundtrack will be released on August 11, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released two albums featuring the songs from the fifth season, as well as multiple soundtracks for the previous four seasons.
Sean Callery to Score Marvel’s ‘Inhumans’
Producer Jeph Loeb announced at Comic-Con today that Sean Callery is scoring Marvel’s upcoming TV series Inhumans and is recording his music for the project with a 70-piece orchestra. The show developed by Scott Buck (Dexter, Iron Fist) based on the comic book series of the same title stars Anson Mount, Iwan Rheon, Serinda Swan, Eme Ikwuakor, Isabelle Cornish, Ken Leung, Ellen Woglom, Sonya Balmores and Mike Moh. The show explores the adventure of the royal family including Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city. Buck is also executive producing the Marvel Television and ABC Studios production with Loeb & Jim Chory (Daredevil, Luke Cage, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
